Her parents won't let us meet

We've been talking for 4 months now and gotten very close. We'd like to meet. She changed her mind so many times but now she definitely wants to.

We were going to stay somewhere overnight because its a long journey for me (£100/4 hours each way) but her parents won't allow it. We're both 19 and have talked every day for months.

Shes tried to convince them but it hasnt worked. I'm really frustrated about the whole thing and dont really know what to do about it.

How did you meet each other? Internet?
Try to understand her parents, they don't know you so.....
As a man who's done what you're trying to, I can see why it's frustrating, meeting people long distances is a pain, and it's frustrating. Especially when you get on well, you like each other, etc. you want to see if it's there in person, you're both adults it shouldn't matter.

As a father, some guy I've never met trying to take my daughter to a hotel for the night, I'd be keeping your testicles after you've picked her up.

I can understand why her parents are reluctant If you guys met online and the first time you're meeting you're both staying over somewhere alone. Just to put her parents at ease could you maybe go to where she lives and meet her at a coffee shop or somewhere in her town whilst someone she knows is nearby and if things go well you can stay over at her house or a hotel in her town.
Maybe you could suggest to her for her parents to meet you, so that their minds are put at ease, that's the only suggestion I can think of at the moment

I understand where the parents are coming from.

Why would they let their daughter stay overnight with a stranger? Considering her age as well?

How do they know that you won't hurt her?

How do they know if you are what you say you are?

Her parents have the right to be concerned about her whereabouts and who she socialise with.

Instead of staying overnight, why don't you meet her in a public location first.

I completely understand why her parents feel that way, but I have about enough money saved up to get there and back once + a cheap hotel. It's a lot of money just to spend half a day together. I know I dont have any negative intentions but I cant prove that to them.

Don't blame her parents, neither they nor their daughter know you. You hear all these horror stories. you should tell her to meet you in a public place and to bring her dad with her (he'll obviously sit somewhere else whilst you talk) and meet him first so you can reassure him that you're not a psycho

Hi OP - THIS!!!

Just because there are costs involved, work around it. you have two full days together, wake up early and sleep late if you really need to spend so much time with her. She doesn't need to be falling out over her parents after your first visit.
Get it into your head that on a first meeting with someone, no parent is going to be happy about their daughter spending a night in a cheap hotel with a man they've never met.

I'd advise you to save more, and maybe extend the visit to a few days so that you can spend more time together.

As I said before, I wouldn't be happy if my daughter said she was off to a hotel for the night with someone she'd never met in person.
Just go out together around London like Hyde park or something if that's is where you are going why do you need to stay together that way she don't need to explain to her parents. No parent wants to know their daughter is going to get smashed in ffs I mean at least be subtle about it and don't tell them your staying at a hotel
Why won't they let you meet?
