I have been living in Spain and, my god, is it not a country to work in. The abuse of employees is insane. I even get an easier ride than the natives being a EFL teacher but I've seen some terrible abuses in large companies. Retiring here must be fantastic, though. I would like to give a try to Norway in the future.

That sounds a lot like my plans! I feel Canada might not necessarily have the potential for STEM career growth (both pay and no. of workers) but has fewer political/cultural problems that seem to come hand-in-hand with the US like its obsession/fantastism with guns and religion.

The pay is good for Chemical/Material/Nuclear Engineers in the US though (starting salary approx 60,000 to 70,000 USD typical).

I'm seriously considering Shanghai and certain rich provinces of China too, they're really investing in developing the nation's scientific enterprises to outcompete the US and the Chinese government has considerably deep pockets to do mega research/industrial projects.

France/Germany invests heavily into science and shouldn't be facing a major economic crisis anytime soon, might be worth looking into before Brexit happens.

I still got a least 5 years here. Doing my last year of A-level then will be doing my degree and masters. I considered Canada do to the politics, guns and police as I'm a minority with mental health and disabilities, I've seen and heard that the USA police are not that patient. If that wasn't the problem would sooooo move there as I would love to work with NASA at some point and be in an area with amazing weather!!!!. :colondollar:

Yeah, so far my vote goes to the Netherlands. I don't like the xenophobia and right-wing-concealed racism this country has fallen prey to. So the Netherlands seem a safe bet, not for the weed or anything, but because they have sound policies & priorities that are both progressive and sensible, plus I'm monolingual so the fact most people in somewhere like Amsterdam can speak at the least broken English, is quite a contributing factor :colondollar:
