I find education to be pointless

As I'm filling my head with useless boring facts requiring an insane amount of time

For example, 99.9% of the math I'm learning I'm never going to use unless I want to be a scientist or a professor doing research

I just want a nice comfortable job in the future without having to slog my way memorizing facts that are useless to me in the future and in most jobs I'd probably be interested in

Can you change my perspective? Is there any value in education for me that I'm not aware of?

Education is necessary if you want the job, yes content is boring and often a waste of time, but its the skills that one learns whilst in education that are beneficial to the future. Also education is needed so people actually know about the world and what they'd like to do in the future. For example, with History, one would argue that it is imperative that people are aware of how their current position in society came about, because that would stop other prejudices.
Learning new things, gaining new skills and expanding your mind are all benefits of education. It's highly likely that one day you will come to appreciate it all.

Which skills? I can read, write and calculate. Seems enough for me for a comfy office job.

For History, I can just watch the History channel.

If you think there's no point then stop studying. I love education because it offers you the opportunity to learn new things, be aware and gather vital skills that you need for the real world. Maybe you're just yet to find something you're passionate about

What are those vital skills? How does learning in Math to complete the square increase my quality of life?
Without education you would be seen as equivalent to the man who goes picking litter from the street. But when it comes to getting the same job, that same man is more likely to get the job simply because he's better educated than you.

So think wise and be rational and not irrational.

That's my point, besides it being useful for getting jobs, education in itself is pointless unless you're going for a specialized job.

I didn't specifically say Maths. English is a good example, it teaches you how to write well, speak well and provides you with the knowledge of basic things such as how to set out a letter, report, article, etc. All skills which you might one day need. ICT is also useful as it teaches you how to use database, spreadsheet and word processing software that you may need to use in your office job  knowledge of basic science is important to help you not kill yourself by accidentally doing something stupid. Geography is good because it makes you aware of what it currently happening in the world.

I don't know what subjects you're taking so I can't really be specific to you

In theory yes you could watch the History channel but the grand majority of people don't, and as said it's imperative for people to have a minimum of "culture" so that history doesn't repeat itself and we may progress as a society

But what about analysing, interpreting etc? Those are key skills needed in day to day life, that are key for socialising.and also are skills regarded as "important" and "necessary" by employers.
And lets be honesty, you wouldnt watch the History channel out of choice.

Actually, having an education or a degree in any subject doesn't mean you have to follow that particular career path. Its the valuable transferable skills which you can't put a price on and are irreplaceable with whatever you try to do to balance that.

The skills you learn at college or at uni, wont help you just get a job, but they'll improve your general outlook towards life, enhance your entrepreneurial and innovative skills that you cant conquer by simply staying at home or wasting time doing odd jobs.

Trust me and take the plunge, you might dread the moment now, but you'll look back at your life and appreciate that you took the step.
It may seem irrelevant now but its useful.

I understand when it comes to maths but you know, you learn something new everyday and sometimes the maths you learn may come in handy.
Maths and history are pointless at any level because history tends to repeat it self anyway and maths is not needed beyond basic numeracy unless you want to become specialised in maths.

Edit: That being said, you need to be educated regardless of what subject will be useful to you in your career.

If you are abroad, you should not take education for granted and make the most of it.

I find life pointless because you die anyway
I think it's funny that so many people think education = money, like yeah if you genuinely have a passion for a subject then you should study. I personally think you don't really need it after the age of 18 unless you decide you want to go in a specific field e.g. do medicine to become a doctor etc. So glad I'm not in school anymore, our education system is broken and it's more about memorising pointless **** than it is about testing your knowledge of what you know (e.g. let's just memorise essays and mark schemes rather than actually comprehend what's being taught to us).

THIS! I've only been on summer for 2 months and I've literally forgotten everything, I think I put a mental block in my head or something
OP
Just stop breathing as there is no real point in that.
