Uni courses in Clearing revealed for 2016

It's accurate for Scottish universities - although the lists might be revised slightly next week when universities have the A level results.

Glasgow isn't listing Accountancy,, Dentistry, Law, Medicine, Nursing teacher training and a bunch of other courses. Scottish universities have their number of students from Scotland strictly controlled but can get additional income by taking students from the rest of the UK.

I see, so it's simply a financial gain for a Scottish University to have clearing available - and not a reflection on the institution itself? As Glasgow is a russel group

I am applying for modern languages anyway and this is probably going to be in clearing across the board as it's not very popular anymore

Hello everyone! I searched around and noticed that Accounting and Finance at the University of Essex is in clearing. Does this mean that the course is not so popular meaning that there's a bigger chance of getting accepted on the course when it comes down to results day? I've already got an offer and it's my main choice that's why I'm wondering.

Any answers will be greatly appreciated.

The course in my firm choice is in clearing, does that mean Im totally in? Lol
Had a quick look at Leeds and it basically says every course is in clearing!? Does that just mean they haven't updated yet?

The clearing lists as they stand now are the ones due to be published in the Telegraph on Tuesday. There might be a few changes but it's unlikely that there will be a lot.

Looking at https://xforms.leeds.ac.uk/forms/form/680/en/clearing_vacancies_2016_registration_of_interest they were expecting to be in clearing for most courses.
Oh god what a fab thread.

My question. My course at Southampton is not in clearing. MEng electronics nanotech.

But a related course in southampton, MEng Electronics wireless comms is in clearing.

So does that mean.. I have got my first choice or that they have considered me for the clearing course as well and I have not got in for both courses.

Courses listing in clearing give NO indication about how you as an individual have done and whether you've been accepted.
As above folks - its pointless trying to second guess your own results from what is or isn't in Clearing!

You won't know what your results are, and/or if you have been accepted, until Thursday morning. It really is that simple.
A few questions about clearing

Will the entry requirements be the same as they stated on their website throughout the year or will they be stated at a lower requirement at first?

Also, when we do get our results, will UCAS track state the grades required for each course online or do we have to call up to find out what the requirements are?

Thanks

The grades required might be the same or might be less. In some cases, I have seen them change over the clearing period. Contact the unis directly for the grades they want.

Ah thanks for that, so Uni's will only publish the courses that have spaces but not the grades required?

Ucas don't publish the grades the universities do.

CLEARING - You must first phone the Uni to check the required grades (A levels and GCSEs) and to see if they will offer you a place. You must not just apply for a Clearing place via Track without first contacting the Uni! You can phone Unis in the morning to secure a place but Track Clearing wont open until 3pm.

Please read all of this information/advice before tomorrow morning :

Hi all!

Good luck on Thursday! The best piece of advice we can give is to be prepared and do your research just in case. If we can help at all... our Clearing hotline is 01522 886622. We also have a live Q&A this evening here: https://www.lincoln.ac.uk/home/linkup/
