There is something quite special about a good piece of cheddar though!

Only in Britain/to Brits though. On the continent you can't even get it, and if you can, it's low-class, cheap cheese.

Nothing like a good Vintage Cheddar:biggrin:
I voted mozzarella in the poll but I am also a big fan of brie and port salut
Best for what?

I wouldn't want a brie sandwich, or grated Edam on pasta, or blue Stilton on a pizza.

Gruyère, parmiggiano and roquefort.

Today I will be asking one of lifes big questions!

What is the best type of cheese?

For me at the moment it is probably Edam (or Stilton, brie, Camembert... so many to choose from!)

How about you?

Only four types I have eaten. Won't try any other as stink

Cheddar
Mozzarella
Cottage
Goats Cheese

Too many cheeses falling under 'other' in the poll XD

What about: Parmesan? Paneer? Ricotta?

You've not lived until you've tried a baked camembert.

ALSO Saint Agur blue cheese is the stuff of gods.

How is mozzarella doing so well? Eaten alone its texture is rubbery and it tastes bland. You all just like it on pizza but I've had pizzas with better toppings than mozzarella.

I'm getting unreasonably angry over cheese.
Wensleydale, Gromit.
Cheshire Cheese. It's the oldest cheese in the world and was first produced centuries ago. It's moist and crumbly and melts really well. I was so pleased when I went to live in Paris there was a Marks and Spencer and I could get my weekly fix of Cheshire.!!

A quick search tells me that Babybell, which is my favourite cheese, is Edam, so I went with that...
