If Corbyn has integrity, why didn't he support Brexit?

He spent almost his entire career being opposed to the EU, and then he (admittedly rather reluctantly) turned to support it, simply because Bremain had become a right-on cause (because the neo-liberal anti-democratic bureaucratic elitist EU is so democratic socialist).

How the hell can he be said to have integrity? Tony Benn must be spinning in his grave.

Corbynism isn't politics, it's religion.

It's definitely cultish.

Indeed, just as the cult around Farage and Trump are.

Because he didn't want to push for a Brexit when it had the support of some very right wing people who probably wanted to use Brexit to relax things like environmental laws, consumer protection and worker's rights among other things. Pretty simple political pragmatism.

I voted to leave in the end, despite these concerns (which are why I was undecided for ages), but I can totally understand why Corbyn was on the remain side.
To be fair, he did absolutely nothing to help the Remain campaign.*

It was a tight bind for him. On this one occasion (one occasion only), I feel slightly sympathetic*
The way he want about non-campaigning for remain (holding back labour data etc) probably did more damage than actually coming out for Brexit

Why focus on Corbyn when pretty much the entire political establishment, including Theresa May and most of her new cabinet supported remaining?

You've fallen for the media brainwash, he did so many things to support remaining in the EU, but the political spotlight and therefore the media spotlight was focused entirely on the tory coup

He really didnt, all the evidenc is there

10 rubbish speeches then went on his hols. + he held back labour data for the remain campaign. I honestly dont think it wouldve made any difference if he campaigned better or not but we have enough evidence to say he didnt.

Lol the Mirror is probably one of the most anti-Corbyn newspapers out there.

I get my sources directly from his and Labour social media, no media manipulation there - he was giving speeches at universities and meeting people every single day, while David Cameron thinks a joint platform with Sadiq Khan ONCE covers him, and a few poor debates - while Theresa May did borderline nothing.

Because May et al didn't spend ages being opposed to the EU.

He respects democracy, unlike the rest of liberals.

So you should base the things you do on whether bad people support them? Does this mean I should stop breathing because Pol Pot inhaled and exhaled air?
That is part of politics. If you stick to what you believe in 100 percent, you will stay a back bencher if you even make it to parliament. In order to be a leader, you have to listen to others and occasionally take positions you are not fully behind personally.
Jeremy Corbyn is essentially just a glorified hippie who lives in some fairy land where life is just sunshine and rainbows. He really needs to get real. How he has such a following I don't know.

Its a shame one-dimensionally thinking idiots like yourself think that being uncritical is equivalent to being opposed.
