Would it be really weird if I went on a bar crawl and didn't drink?

My Uni has a fairly monumental bar crawl advertised for Fresher's week, and since I want to get as involved as possible and try out new things, I really want to take part and go along for the ride. The only problem is, I don't drink.
(I'm not holier-than-thou about it, nor am I teetotal for moral reasons - I just hate the taste of alcohol and have spent enough time feeling sick due to chronic illness that I would do anything to avoid adding to nausea)

Would it be really weird/socially unacceptable for me to attend but only have non-alcoholic drinks? I know this sounds weird but I honestly have no idea whether or not that would be okay...
Nah, most people will be drunk and won't notice anyway ^.^ You do you.

Yeah it's fine
Although some people will be dicks about it, especially after drinking themselves.
If you tell them you do drink, but it makes you feel really sh** so you would rather just enjoy the event, then they will normally back down.
If they still bother you there are loads of ways to avoid it. Tell them you don't have any money left, or order a coke and pretend it has vodka in, or tell them you really don't want to have to use a public bathroom

Hello

I answer this same question daily, it's a common misconception that students have to drink and it's a surprise to see the amount of students that worry they'll be seen differently, judged or won't make friends because they don't drink.

Just remember, you don't have to drink - at all. You'll be respected for sticking to your decisions and you'll make friends no matter what.

You'll be fine.

Best of luck

Not weird at all. I would go out during freshers with my friends who did drink, I personally didn't and they really didn't care. Only narrow minded people would be bothered and you wouldn't want to socialise with those people anyway. As long as you're having fun that's all that matters, whether or not you're under the influence
We had a pub crawl last year and there were people who didn't drink and had no problem with it. Just order squash or a fizzy drink or just water
Yeah, don't worry at all! I personally am a big drinker but like I totally respect people who don't drink. I mean, in the end everyone is going out to have fun regardless of who is drinking or what the setting is. You'll have a great time. Plus you can joke with all the drunk people around and have a right laugh haha!
