GCSE Results Day 2016: Post Your GCSE Results!

Hello everyone! It's time for you all doing GCSEs to get your results, I hope that you get the grades you want and deserve. We've set aside this thread so that you can post your predicted grades and your exam results. In the past few years on TSR these threads for A-level seem really popular, however I don't think GCSE students have had a thread to show the grades they've worked hard for, so now it's your turn!

Feel free to congratulate each other but we do have the official results day thread for you to use to discuss your results, how you're feeling in the run up to results day and on the day. When released, you can find out the grade boundaries for this years exam on the grade boundaries thread. If you want advice about your results then head over to the Didn't do as well as you hoped? thread. If you're thinking about a retake/remark, we have a thread on retake and remark information for you. If you have any further questions, please make a thread in the GCSE forum or post in one of the mentioned threads.

On behalf of the Community team and TSR support team, we wish you the best of luck in whatever results you attain! :h:

Not Results day yet, but I just wanna be the first post.

Mwahaha Reserved!

As the Top Poster you'd expect amazing grades, but oh well. (Emojis included to express my reactions)

Maths: A
English Lang: B
English Lit: B :frown:
Core Science: A
Additional Science: A :frown:
D.T: C :frown:

(edited 7 years ago)
English literature: A*
English language: A*
Maths: A (disappointed but not surprise with the boundary)
Chemistry: A :frown:
Physics: A
Biology: A :frown: (A* in the exams but an A in coursework, my damn school ugh)
Geography: B (very disappointed, not sure what happened)
RE: A :frown:
EPQ: A*
French: A*

Overall disappointed with my results if I'm honest. I did well on paper but the coursework (which was promised as an A* and wasn't moderated) for 3 subjects dragged me down. I worked so hard and I feel like the school have kind of thrown it in my face with dragging my grades down.

Don't think Oxbridge is now in the foreseeable future because of these but I'm going off to do chemistry, biology, French and English literature and hoping to become a psychiatrist

Other Comments: Sending off biology additional for a remark as I was 3UMS from an A* in bio, possibly sending a geography paper for a remark to get an A, and then one of the RE papers was 1UMS from an A so perhaps it'll average my overall grade as an A*.

Hope it's not too naughty, saving a space for results day :3

Mathematics: Predicted A / My Prediction B / Achieved B

Only added my prediction so my grades when I get them don't look so bad ;-;

Comments and reactions
I got what I think is alright. I had 57% attendance in my whole time at school which is only a little over half my time there and I should be grateful for my grade A considering I was never in. I expected a C in English Lit so wow basically.

Future ambitions
Something in Media. Idk what yet but who knows what the future holds? :h:

Was initially disappointed, especially in French and Maths but now I feel so much happier. Biology and Physics were (surprisingly) a few UMS off an A and since so many people were close to the next grade in many subjects, our school is automatically requesting to remark

Future ambitions

To get at least one A* at A Level and to get into a Russell Group uni (preferably Imperial) to study a science related degree

Lolyup. Don't really wanna predict, just going straight for a full house . Realistically would be pleased with at least 9A*s, really happy with 11 A*s, and 13 A*s would be the dream

Comments and reactions
12 A*s 1 A! Super psyched. A in geog was a tad annoying seeing as I was off by 1 UMS, but I know where I went wrong and I'm not remarking it, but keeping it to remind me not to make the mistake again. Still, really high GCSE grades, really happy and time to power on and sweat out A levels!

Future ambitions
Studying History, Economics, Maths and Politics (lol HEMP) next year. PPE at Oxford is the dream, but PPE or Politics and Economics at a prestigious Russell' Group uni is my ambition.

Comments and reactions
I'm happy with the subjects that I got top grades in but other than Spanish I am pretty disappointed with the rest because I was really hoping for straight As and A*s. I might remark media studies and English literature as they were quite close to the A grade boundary.

Future ambitions
Next year I want to study maths, physics and chemistry. I also want to do biology or further maths but I haven't made a definite decision, maybe I'll try to do both.
I want to do a degree in physics at a top university such as Cambridge or Imperial.
