Why do escorts become escorts?

i reckon you'd be surprised. there used to be a website (maybe still is?) called punternet which was always a laugh to read where WGs would be rated/compared etc and most stories seemed to hint at anything from like £100 - £500 per hour so i don't think £250 is too far off.

not to say there aren't homeless/desperate girls doing £20 specials but as far as the professional industry goes these girls are making bank.

Go check adultwork, you'll find a bigger base and more sensible numbers, and for the amount of people on there, you'd need an awful lot of blokes to be up to that on a daily basis, the numbers just don't check out.
Depends. Some do it because they're too lazy to work. Others do it to fund themselves through education. I know a girl who went into it to get through her education.

You think prostitites have sex for money because they're too lazy to work?

You think working behind the tills in Tesco is harder than having to have sex with strangers multiple times, daily?

Ok.
A lady of the night that I've spoken to told me that she does it because she likes sex, it seems pretty legit to me. She also said that some have drug issues and do it to feed their habbits.

I said SOME do it. I never said loads of them do it because they're too lazy did I?

Honestly, why?

It is perfectly legal and I know the money is great. But just having sex with random people? I honestly wouldn't do that for any money. But I do respect their decision to become escorts. As it's their life, their choice.

Serious answers please. Reasons why they become and stay as escorts?

There's a joke that goes alone the lines of:

A man walks up to a woman and asks "would you have sex with me for one million pounds?" The women enthusiastically declares she would. The man then asks "would you have sex with me for a fiver". The woman looks disgusted and exclaims "What do you think I am?". The main replies "I think we've already established that, now we're just bartering over price".

My point is I'd bet good money is someone offered you enough you would have sex with them. People who choose to do it for a living simply place a different value on it, due to either a) a greater need for money or b) a different view of people having sex with them.

Yeah but you provided it as one of predominant reasons though. Don't know about you but I'd find being a prostititute much harder work than stacking shelves at Tesco

Fair point.

And research shows that if a woman walks straight up to a man and asks simply "would you have sex with me", a significant proportion of men would say yes. No monetary exchange involved.

Funny that when you think about it.

For some people, money trumps everything else.

No they're not, as I said, run a google search, literally thousands of pages of <£60/h escorts.

I agree with your point if you want an escort you're taking out, then yes, spend the money, but most of the girls who bill themselves as escorts don't leave their flats much.

Granted, but for every escort offering cheap services there are likely several on the high end.

I'd say it depends how many guys you sleep with and how much stamina you have

I have a few escort friends and I agree, more and more escorts are pricing themselves much higher. Not every escort service is for the regular man. Plus some men are into kinks that require a lot more planning and set-up.

One of my friends charges £900 for an overnight incall and does that twice a week. If you have more to provide ie, your own space, very open minded, can switch easily between roles then you're well within your right to charge more. And if you pay £60 for a girl, you get what you pay for I guess.

Sex work is by no means an easy job, though, and I know people say why don't you get a normal one then. But if someone is happy and perfectly comfortable doing this then I don't see why it should be a problem. It's a service that's being provided for at the end of the day, a service that wouldn't exist if there was no demand.

Right, but that goes against my original point that escorts and prostitutes aren't the same. If your friend is paid purely for sex rather than being paid at least primarily to be someone's date for the night, she's a prostitute, not an escort

Think you'll find it's the other way round. There's very few charging £1000 a night successfully, and far more charging <£60 an hour who are nearer prostitutes than escorts.

I guess she is then, it's usually dinner and an overnight but everyone know's what they're there for. The man is almost always looking for the GFE.

I think some girls shy away from escorting because of agency fees, they take 30% generally. Independent escorting is hard to start but once a client base is set up it's easy to run.

Then that's in agreement with my original point, that if they're taking money for sex most of the time then they're prostitutes that also happen to do escort work. A prostitute may also do a little escorting work on the side for a bit of money - sort of a "We'll have sex, but pay me extra and we can go out for a while first" type of deal. As I said, I'm not saying that even high end escorts don't take money for sex on occasion, but as I said, a rich person is most often a financially-smart person - they're not likely to pay a sophisticated woman a tonne of money to have sex with when they can pay someone cheap with - not being rude - more loose morals and have a better time, or just as good at least, whilst spending a fraction.
