If you get A-A* in an essay based A level (eg history) then they probably won't particularly care about your English gcse as long as it meets standard entry requirements (if you aren't doing any essay based a levels then it may be a problem)

I dont have History but I have English Language and economicswhat about those two?

Any essay based subject is good, its about the skills rather than the content
