I'm from Ireland. I chose to do GCSEs and A Levels at this private school because Irish Educational system is pretty bad. The college I went to sorta specialised in British education and allowed us to sit exams whenever we felt ready (January, June and now October!).
I did my GCSEs for 2 years as opposed to the 4 years which seems to be the norm in the UK and my A levels for 2 years too which is why I'm 2 years younger than the average applicant lol.
However, I'm most likely gonna take a gap year because my age did prevent me from applying to some universities I wanted to go with a 18 year old lower age limit.

Never heard of anyone taking 4 years do their GCSEs. The norm is 2 years where you start them in year 10 and finish in year 11

20, I'm glad in a way I left it a little bit later than my high school mates, a couple of year ago I was way too immature to live by myself, haha!

Going to be 18, start next month in Lincoln can't wait.
31 when I start next month then a month later turn 32! Having a child at 19 prevented me from going but he's now going to secondary school and I'm off to uni!!
I'll be turning 20 during freshers week... maybe not the best plan perhaps XD

I've actually changed my mind and decided to study a master's in chemistry instead, with the goal of becoming a medicinal chemist  At either Surrey or Reading, though when I was thinking of pharmacy I was gonna go to Reading  What about you?

A good way to know a little more about TSR community... so how old will you be if you're starting University and for what course?

Me: I'm 20 and will be doing International Hsspitality Management

I originally started at 19, left when I was 21 and will likely be going back when I'm 23
19- I have awhile to decide but I'm not sure if I want to do Chemistry or Physics :hmmmm2::hmmmm2:
42 and start next month. Age is not a barrier to learning, but the people who say that are mostly over 30 tbf :h:
18 (hopefully)! :giggle: :h:
I will be 31, almost 32 when I start my foundation year.

I have a kind of nervous excitement about it all, kind of giddy and yet kind of sick at times haha.

Excited to meet new people and immerse myself in education again

Hi Clarabella,

How did you decide whether University as a mature student was for you? How are you keeping on top of your other life commitments around studying?

I ask because I'm worried whether I'll be able to keep up with such demands if I decide to study as a mature student as well :frown:
