[QUOTE=Sacred Ground;67248730]Patronising me? Nice! You're a new kind of special if you can infer a 'tone of speech' through my text. Pfft.

I don't follow a regimented plan of eating every 2 hours - I'm just usually hungry every 2 hours, if I eat a large meal such as going out for dinner, I won't eat 2 hours later. Dafty.

I patronised you because you misinterpreted what i'd said.

Yes of course you can infer tone through speech!
Look at your above post haha, your tone is pretty clear.

I'll rise above the childish name calling.

Cool.

'Dafty' is hardly an offensive term, smh. You can infer tone through speech - correct! You can't infer tone through text; it's merely subjective.

Childish. I never said i was hurt haha

Yeah, typo. My bad.

I meant text. Of course you can convey tone through text, usually people use emojis to help out.
Usually sarcasm can be conveyed or anger or an upbeat tone.

Your post, the aforementioned one, clearly had a tone through it. I think 9/10 reading it would agree.

Anyway, we are off topic.

Eat how you want to, i'll continue to be 'boring' and eat 3 times a day

But eating every 2 hours will be tough/impossible when you're working or even at uni

Mate I could care less about my tone in my writing, sorry. As I've said - tone is subjective.

Anyhow, I know it'll be next to impossible when I start uni (as it was when I was at sixth form) but that's a hurdle I'll cross when I get to it. I haven't even got my uni timetable yet.

Well you should care about your tone as people try and workout if you're being aggressive or not.

Do you have normal food but like halfed? How many meals a day? (Usually)

You can certainly get 4/5 meals in a day easily but during the middle of the day you'll be busy

Yeah... I've been told I'm too blunt irl, definitely got to work on it being involved with medicine.

I have normal food, I guess? A typical day would be:
1 - Protein shake w/ porridge
2 - fruit w/ wholewheat chicken wrap
4 - post workout shake
5 - tuna w/ brown pasta
6 - toast w/ nutella (peanut butter is too salty)
7 - chicken w/ brown rice

I suppose if you count protein shakes as a 'meal' then i have more than 3 meals.

Just seems like major effort to cook all that but nothing wrong with doing that

I genuinely don't know how I'm going to manage medical school, the gym, work and socialising. So any medics/vets out there - how do you cope?!

Consider getting some of your own equipment? Depending what you do at the gym, you could always do weights at home, and do stuff like going running. It's much easier to fit in.

I'm a second year medic. Last year I managed to get top marks, while being part of a few societies, going on nights out twice a week, and being fairly sociable. I didn't work alongside the course, but several people I know did.

You just have to be switched on and efficient. For me, a timetable plan of my week was helpful
it's pretty easy if you're not wasting a lot of time, try and make sure you do things in a time efficient way e.g. go to the gym on the way to/from uni to save an extra trip, don't spend 30 mins showering before class then 30 mins showering after the gym later as well, if you can fit in a gym session between classes that's a good option

personally I always prefer to get up early and work out before whatever I have to do that day because then it's done and it's only time you would have been asleep anyway
I go to the gym at night after I'm finished with homework and it helps me relax and just distract myself from everything else, I see it as therapeutic.

Hey,

Title pretty much explains it. I am a freshman doing a considerably rigorous degree. I'm just wondering how you guys in a similar situation manage to exercise regularly amidst all the work bombardment. Some advice is really appreciated!

Edit: I'm not training for the Olympics or anything, just maintaining fitness

Hi,

It alls about setting your priorities you will have to sacrifice certain things.

I was at uni studied electrical and electronic engineering which was pretty hectic, I did a daily schedule every day really allocating where my time are going and stick to that. There will be distractions that will take away your time but it's how you manage it.

Right now I run my own company and that also takes a lot of my time but I have my priorities where I know working out it one of my top priorities.

1 hour a day isn't really a great deal. It's all about time management. Most people can fit it in.
