They tend to get pushed to study hard and achieve in life.
Wouldn't really say intelligence is a factor, but their culture is. They are usually brought up with high expectations from their family

It is because they're always revising?

I wouldn't say we are intelligent. I think it is just the work ethic that our parents put into us at a young age.

My motivation?

Well, as an Indian, I WILL have an arranged marriage and if I want a decent wife well I guess you get the picture.

Im quite relieved to hear these kinds of answers. Ive always felt there wasn't an innately superior intelligence - just a question of a greater amount of time spent on the acquisition of factual information; time they could have spent on socialising or developing a broader extra-circular profile.

Forced tuition, threatened with abandonment/death, high expectations from parents, fish curry, etc....

Cheers for that mate. I got to admit, my extra curricular profile sucks. But because I'm Indian, no one cares
intelligence doesn't come from your ethnicity :indiff:
if you work hard then you'll be intelligent as well

Their forced to study by their strict parents or else they'll be thrown back to India to end up being raped by their cousins (also arranged marriage with a wife that probably has a unibrow )

Judging by your username, you are probably Pakistani so your upbringing is hardly different. Be honest

It's because the parents that end up over here have generally worked very very hard to achieve and it rubs off on the children.
The other reason is that people picked up on that stereotype and put it in TV shows and things - exaggerating people's perspective on it.

But at school, they know ALL the facts. Like even the ones that aren't in the syllabus. And they're always getting 100 UMS marks in everything. Im sure they are really really good at exams. But I think they lack creativity and social skills.
Not really - my parents really don't give a fudge. But my cousins on the other hand, that's a different story. 😂

They don't know all the facts. There's no reason what you're saying contradicts my explanation?
I worked with some indians in Australia and I can tell you now they are not all intelligent :curious:
Lol the only Indian I've known so far from school named the nucleus of cell as a 'honeycomb catalytic converter '

someone in my school has got the highest grade possible in every exam in like the last 3 years so like A* in everything imaginable but he's not Indian he just puts lots of work in to get as good as he is. However many people like that are very socially awkward as they can't interact properly.
