I wouldn't say we are intelligent. I think it is just the work ethic that our parents put into us at a young age.

My motivation?

Well, as an Indian, I WILL have an arranged marriage and if I want a decent wife well I guess you get the picture.

You're ok with an arranged marriage?

Yes

What if you don't like the suitors or find someone else?

Also are you a Muslim? If so, are you allowed to date?
It's basically a stereotype for them . Same with the chinese . There are over 1 billion in indians in India .Think of the competition for jobs or going at a good uni .Many people=competition=hardwork and intelligence

Im quite relieved to hear these kinds of answers. Ive always felt there wasn't an innately superior intelligence - just a question of a greater amount of time spent on the acquisition of factual information; time they could have spent on socialising or developing a broader extra-circular profile.

Lol at this coping mechanism for your failures.

Cheers for that mate. I got to admit, my extra curricular profile sucks. But because I'm Indian, no one cares

I've seen the extracurriculars thing a lot, most parents just send their kids for _____ lessons just to boast about it (in India, at least). If they start to truly love ____, they 'need' a harsh reminder that there is no career option in ____.
Of course I'm not claiming everyone's parents do this... But I've seen too much of it...
Their parents come from India and are stuck in unskilled labour. They want their children to succeed for the fear they'll struggle too.

Or watching Netflix.
Because they manage their time properly.

This isn't exclusive to Indians though.
