Is Muslim girls only accomodation available at Sheffield Hallam university ?

Asking as it will be more practical to live with other Muslims due to dietary needs
You can have certain requests when you apply, but there is no accommodation fully comprised of muslims (unless you mean flat) also in what way will this help with dietary needs? Do you expect to eat your flatmate's food?

As far as I'm aware there aren't any Muslim only accommodations that are run by Hallam, but you can put in preferences and requests when you apply. I don't think they can guarantee anything though. If you are unable to find anything suitable through them, there are quite a few Muslim only student flats on the private rental sector in Sheffield. They tend to be in areas of Sheffield that have higher Muslim populations. It might be worth going to one of the local community centres in places such as Burngreave, Darnall or Fir Vale. I'd definitely recommend Burngreave as there are several Mosques, Halal food shops and Specialist/Cultural Stores there.

Hi did u manage to find any accomodation for females only?
Only asking as i have a cousin that has been placed in mixed accomodation and this is really affecting her, she does not feel comfortable and ends up staying in her room all the time - i have a feeling she will quit uni.
Will check to see if uni can help in miving her to a single sex floor within the halls

hi there -

i ended up moving flats within a few days of actually moving to sheffield hallam because my former flatmates were, uh, interesting. i went to the union advice centre and they redirected me to accommodation services.

at the accommodation services they told me about a bunch of different flats in different places, and some of these flats were women-only flats - so they do exist. they were just as rowdy and loud as other flats though, so don't expect to have her move to a flat full of girls and get quiet nights every single evening.

there may be a price change involved! also, since most rooms are now occupied, don't expect to get a pick of accommodation. if your cousin really wants to move she may have to move to a less "favourable" hall - one that's on the edge of the city centre, or not near any shops, or something.

hope everything goes ok!

Hello!

Unfortunately we do not have muslim only or female only accommodation at Sheffield Hallam University. Our accommodation is inclusive to all, but as people have noted above, you can make a note on your application for accommodation
that you would like to love with muslim girls, or would like to live with females and our Accommodation Services will take this into consideration when allocating your new home.

I hope this helps  If you have any further questions, do ask. Have a look at our Accommodation pages online too.

Thanks,
Laura
