Nope, I've been emailing them and they said they have to offer all the "guaranteed" students first. But it's getting a little late and I'm concerned there won't be any places

Not me, I emailed the and they said it could take up to mid September as they are still allocating spaces. We're going to get all of the left over places :colonhash:

When I submitted my accommodation choices at the clearing open day, the lady that helped me said that the options that were available had places, she kept referring to a list, she also confirmed that if you choose 'on suite' you will be offered this. After reading a few threads this information does not seem to be true. Several students have been offered something completely different! I went for Glen, Mayflower and Wessex (all on suites). I was also informed that it did not matter when you confirmed accommodation as the system automatically selects your choice.

There seems to be conflicting messages from the uni, Its terrible that we have to wait so long!

This completely conflicts with my discussion at the uni on the clearing day with the staff member who assisted me with choosing my accommodation on line. I am getting a bit frustrated and disappointed with all the conflicting messages.

That's awful!!!!! Not a great start! There seems to be a lack of transparency over allocation of accommodation and misleading communication from the open day.

I didn't go through clearing and personally would avoid student accommodation especially those who want ensuites etc Many will argue you get to socialise and meet new people but socieites courses etc will be just as good if not better due to higher chance of similar interests. Hence for those worried about not getting an offer firstly most UNIS I'm pretty sure guarantee a place for first year students so you'll definitely get. Place.

The main concern is it may not be what you wanted hence would advise look st private companies and letting agencies most are very affordable at similar prices whilst giving you your own place. Always good to have backup options just in case you aren't happy.

Well I could only choose from what was available as Glen Eyre was full and some others too. So I got Archers Road . Hope you all get yours soon and it's what you wanted!
