Okay I'll do a ten year plan

1) I want to finish year 13 and get A*AA in law, business and economics respectively

2) I want to get all my health issues under control before i start university and to stop being so anxious about everything :colone:

3) I really want to go to university to study law, ideally cambridge, but if not then i will go to the university of law or Lancaster.

4) After university i want to take the BPTC to become a criminal barrister.

5) After being a barrister for 5 years i think I'd like to own my own house, settle down, maybe find a guy  and pursue my final career promotion of being a judge. :h:

Not to be a pessimist, but you may struggle to get into Cambridge with those A Levels. Law and Business are both seen as weak A Levels, and the combination of Business + Economics is discouraged because they overlap a lot.

This is why I am the aspiring doctor, I can save you don't worry.

How much money do you hope to be making and how many hours do you want to work?
Ten year plan

1. Get married on the date we have booked and still be going strong

2. Adopt at least five more cats

3. Set up a local OCD support group

4. Have a job working with animals

5. Move to a nicer area of my hometown

6. Pass my driving test

7. Be cured of or at least managing my illnesses better

8. Get over my fear of flying

9. Finally get around to giving blood. My panic attacks are preventing me atm

10. Be back to ginger hair :colondollar:

I'm not too bothered about Cambridge, realistically I'm not expecting an offer. I'd rather go to ULaw. It's just filling up a high risk space for my application, so there is no harm in trying

Honestly? Money isn't something I actually think about, I know doctors get a higher salary than others jobs due to the work load but I'm interested in being a doctor because of the passion I have for helping people get better, seeing them rehabilitate, knowing that I've made a difference and that I've given something back to the many doctors who have saved my life countless of times. It's the simple thought of actually being the one to see your patients smile because you've been there to save their lives. This is why it makes me cry at night because it's all I want.

Again, if I have to work so many hours nobody will see me, in a way I don't mind as the health and well-being of my patients comes first. Doctors, nurses, health care assistants do so much for the public and community that people forget this. :frown:
My 5 year plan:
1) Buy a house (and get a mortgage)
2) Get a new car
3) Have a boyfriend
4) Buy a classic mini
5) Take my mini to shows (and hopefully win couple of trophies)
6) Take over the brownie leader that im a leader at

Good luck with your medical ambitions

Making notes and reading my books  because I have notes and you don't believe me :frown: oh so can the 10% be from extracting people's bloods out and possibly beginning some human dissecrtion :colone: great doctor I'll be. And no the spider bite is making me feel ill :colonhash: so no food for me. What's an Actuary may I ask?

I didn't know you could still bear to read stuff  or what notes you are making  yeah why not, a bit of 'work experience' I guess  :teehee: :fan:

:frown: I dunno.. I'm not a medical expert or anything.. but I hope you have seen one of those :s-smilie:

Working with probability, stats, financial modelling, risk etc to work with businesses, often on insurance to.. aid decision making, I suppose.
1. Go to university
2. Get finance degree
3. ????
4. PROFIT!!!

*bare can I just say  a bear is an animal and I'll show you if you like, my handwriting is better than yours any day, I may have seen it  but you know that is what Maths does to you.

Unfortunately I have never seen a human dissection performed, nobody lets me but I always promise to put them back together  I like watching Holby City but Digby died and I had to stop :frown:

Oh that's cool, does it pay well :teehee:
1. Apply for vacation schemes and summer internships in law/asset management/the odd middle office role in banks (see what I get, all are good opportunities and will add value to my CV)
2. Finish the last 2 years of my degree
3. If I'm lucky enough to secure a training contract, take a year to complete the LPC post uni
4. If not, hopefully start work as a graduate at a financial services company or graduate scheme
5. Progress in the role, whatever it may be, before evaluating the opportunities
Nice thread.

Made me think of actually planning everything from today.

Pretty sure it is bear :mmm:  oh yeah, maybe you saw my handwriting in my blog.. or some other thread  I'll show you some of mine too. This is my handwriting at best  but at worst it looks like the scrawlings of a doctor.   you should have that as well given your aspirations.

:teehee: maybe some day you will :moon:

Yeah.. that's one of the main things drawing me to it

Been thinking about my future recently and wrote down a plan so here it is. Have chosen a ten year plan as a five year one is too soon.

1) I would like to finish up my final year at school and ideally get A*AA

2) This isn't my priority but maybe finding someone to love and hold me at night

3) Go on my gap year and travel. Sweden awaits  I also hope to undertake in this four week science work experience in London next year.

4) Applying to university in October 2017 to places like QMUL, UCL, KCL, Nottingham etc to do either Medical Sciences or Biomedical Science.

5) After University I would undertake in medical research but it depends to be fair. Ideally I'd like to look into blood more. :colone:

6) After medical research I want to train as a doctor and either do Graduate Entry Medicine or a Medicine degree. Ideally at Imperial. Being a doctor would mean the world to me :cry2: and I wish I could write why but it makes me so happy to think I could save lives. I cry at night knowing I could save so many people. :hugs: just please someone out there, believe in me so I can get there. Knowing that as a child I always assumed that I would become one, I lost all hope and went the wrong way in my subjects but I have a chance. It makes me cry. :frown:

7) I would love to work as a paediatrics doctor and specialise in neuroscience or something, it's too hard.

Well that's my plan, what's yours?

What A levels do you do?

You will definitely make it, don't lose hope, put the work in and believe in yourself.

I can't believe it but you are right, the 'bear' I was discussing is completely different haha. You can tell I have no passion for English anymore. That handwriting is erm, I can't explain it but I'll show you mine later on. It's nice but it is a bit feminine I can't lie. There's this guy in my Lit class and he has such beautiful handwriting it's not readable

I think I've found my first human dissection

Like I told someone above, you don't go into a job for the money but for the love and passion you have and the fact that you are saving lives, oops sorry forgot you aren't becoming a doctor. All you will do is write up Maths equations.

Aww thank you! :h: How are your studies going so far?

I'm doing Media, English Literature and English Language but I've found a way onto Biomed for two years time so hence why the gap year.

Wow! Go you for being so passionate about what you want to do with your life! I aspire to be like this (maybe not with being a doctor or even doing science :s-smilie:) but to be have a clear path to follow. You can make it and I know you can get those grades. Good luck with your plan and as for my plan, its not as clear yet as I'm only in year 11 but I hope to be a lawyer and just to be happy with myself and be surrounded by kind and caring people :h:

ahh i remember when i used to make plans

but then i became an adult and discovered that plans are useless as they rarely happen when you reach a certain point

so be prepared kids, as soon as you start working you never get to stick to most of your plans

sigggh life.

Aww :hugs: thank you so much. Honestly, it's great at this age that you have a plan. I won't lie, if you look at my old posts on TSR from a year ago, an English degree was what I wanted to do and venture into script writing and possibly Law or journalism but it took me a long time to realise now what I want to do. I spoke to people, gained knowledge and insight and I am now making sure I get to my dream. Once you get to sixth form, you may change your plans a few times but promise once you do your exams and have a clear idea on grades and what you are good at, it'll be all clear. All the best of luck lovely! :h:
