Your five/ten year plan..

I don't really know the amount of time it's going to take me to accomplish what I want to but here are some things one my list:

>Graduate university with a good grade Bsc Psychology degree (moving in two weeks  )
>Volunteer/Interact with mental health awareness charities during my time at university
>Travel to places I've found interesting - Israel, Indonesia, Canada, Italy etc.
>Learn another language
>Learn to play the guitar
>Continue getting in shape through the gym (get my routine back on track)
>When I'm ready, find someone who's willing to put up with me for the foreseeable future :h:
>Considering whether I want to continue into postgraduate study or finish with education in about 3 years time
I finished one five year plan a short while ago, and started another. I'm going to get an MBA, a PhD in business/marketing/econ. development.

earn 1,000,000 from a business, and then live in both london and birmingham, and maybe overseas too.

i don't want kids, i hate them.

Now I'm going to say the 'n' in government, and I sound so ridiculous.. so glad I didn't choose Politics as a career.
Well on the handwriting thread your handwriting is like, not even writing, it's like a 'bear' did it. I can't bear to look at it.. And naah my handwriting isn't feminine at all, yours is that's what I was alluding. Funny that, I think we write the same. You sure you didn't steal my notes

Ah yeah I hear ya, but the name of the career is so ambiguous, like it could mean anything.

You don't have to  for me it's guh-ver-ment, the n is silent  like the 'q' in diamqond

I just had a look and yeah, it was horrible  couldn't find you posting there though :hmmmm:  yeah, I'll give you that :colondollar: excuse me whilst I go and watch some rom coms :colondollar: I think we write the same when I try my best and you try normally.

Indeed  :iiam:

Been thinking about my future recently and wrote down a plan so here it is. Have chosen a ten year plan as a five year one is too soon.

1) I would like to finish up my final year at school and ideally get A*AA

2) This isn't my priority but maybe finding someone to love and hold me at night

3) Go on my gap year and travel. Sweden awaits  I also hope to undertake in this four week science work experience in London next year.

4) Applying to university in October 2017 to places like QMUL, UCL, KCL, Nottingham etc to do either Medical Sciences or Biomedical Science.

5) After University I would undertake in medical research but it depends to be fair. Ideally I'd like to look into blood more. :colone:

6) After medical research I want to train as a doctor and either do Graduate Entry Medicine or a Medicine degree. Ideally at Imperial. Being a doctor would mean the world to me :cry2: and I wish I could write why but it makes me so happy to think I could save lives. I cry at night knowing I could save so many people. :hugs: just please someone out there, believe in me so I can get there. Knowing that as a child I always assumed that I would become one, I lost all hope and went the wrong way in my subjects but I have a chance. It makes me cry. :frown:

7) I would love to work as a paediatrics doctor and specialise in neuroscience or something, it's too hard.

Well that's my plan, what's yours?

I won't be posting my plan here, because after some things that have happened in my life, I decided that I'd never make long term plans ever again. However, if this works for you, it's great.

Now the actual reason why I've chosen to post this reply is to tell you how awesome it is that a potential career as a doctor makes you shed tears at night. It means you've chosen the right path, and this is more important than anything. Even if things don't go as planned, if you're still this passionate five years from now, you're good.

Best of luck!

no, it's a fact.
Next 10 years:

1. Finish my A2 year and do well in my A-levels to hopefully get into medical school.

2. Graduate and start training to fulfil one of my dreams of becoming a successful/good doctor. Ideally I've always loved working with children and would love to work in paediatrics but that could well all change if I get into med school and have the chance to explore more areas of specialty (considering I've only had work experience in a couple of specialties).

3. Hopefully somewhere in between 1 and 2 I'll meet a special guy and eventually get married and start a family ^_^

4. Pass my driving test + get a car.

5. Work towards buying a house.

6. Oh and I don't know when but at some point I definitely want to go to a BTS or EXO or LuHan (or all of them) concert! :h:

Get a finance related masters at a top London university and then emigrate probably to Canada.
I've lived in Montreal and New York and have no real intention to live in England permanently.

Alright alright, humour me, what's your source?

(My mother has clinical depression, you're not going to change my mind, I just want to see where this controversial opinion >not fact< is coming from.)

I just believe it's fact. oh, and it's my opinion, i don't care if your mind projects differently.

That's not a fact then is it  That's an opinion. Facts are generally supported by evidence.

Have a good day :hat2:

Lol I'm not going to believe you over tons of science, evidence and experience. Your opinion was literally never asked for, you did not need to comment. Bye.
Mmm...

5 years - finish uni, get a job.
10 years - still have a job, and have enough money to live by myself in a nice flat, and be comfortable.

That would be awesome :awesome: where are you planning to go to University?

I do not fist no more. I have learned my lesson and have attended fist rehab as a result.

I am thinking of KCL, Middlesex, Kingston, Greenwich and LSBU.

KCL is my dream though.

How about you?

Erm.. you misspelt diamond mate. think you need to do an English degree. It wasn't horrible, it was absolute **** just kidding :colondollar: nah it was pretty for a man.

Watch Titanic, makes my heart sob :frown: and to be fair my handwriting is horrible but I need to learn short hand for when I'm a doctor and making my millions and I prescribe paracetamol to everyone because it's the Asian solution to everything.

Aww I respect that a lot, and thank you so much for your nice words, means a lot, I don't think I'll change my plans anymore unless something dire happens or someone tells me I can't do it but I won't listen to them. :frown:
Within the next three years:
get a part time job throughout uni and complete degree.

After that, complete a PGCE, get a license, fall in love (?) and become a history teacher. those are really my only goals.

You're welcome. I recognized that feeling right away - I've experienced it too, and quite often, I'd like to say. It's not about changing your plans or anything, it's about sticking to ideas and dreams, rather than institutions. For example, you said you wanted to go to Imperial. You may change your mind about it, or you may not get it (touch wood); hell, you may even get into Oxbridge, but it doesn't matter as long as you enjoy the ride and end up happy anyway.

Oh, and btw, don't ever compromise. Dream big and work relentlessly towards your goal, but remember - baby steps.

Aww KCL used to be my dream :teehee: like three months ago lol. I can't lie I prefer UCL now but that's just my preference to be fair, you should consider Nottingham too if they do the degree you want.

I can't thank you enough for being a lovely person, it took me ages to get to this dream, I used to question if it was even worth doing anything but I researched, spoke to people and sampled some English lectures and I was like this isn't for me. Hopefully this gap year sorts me out, I don't want to rush into anything.

Once again, thank you!

Np.. I've been in the exact same situation as you, and right now, I'm doing a gap year too after I was too afraid to apply to the course I was actually passionate about being rejected by my dream uni. And I'm leaving the country too.. in about a week, actually
