well you can find out the volume originally by using formula for volume of a cylinder amd them use the formula for volume of a cone. Workout the volume of liquid above the cone after its flipped

I know i did that bit, but how do i find out the height if the sand only in the cylindre when its flipped?
I got 36pi=volume of sand
V of cone=6pi
36pi-6pi=30pi so the v of sand in the cylindre is after its flipped is 30pi
Pi 3^2 x height=30pi
But when i rearrange to get the height, it gives me a massive number

9pi h =30pi so the pi's cancel out so 9h=30
Therefore h=30/9 = 10/3 and add 2
