Is My Family In Trouble?

Okay, so my mum was outside working in the garden and she found a pile of about 7 EMPTY packets of methadone tablets. We don't know where they have come from but we imagine someone has thrown them over the fence or gone into the garden to place them there. We have put them straight in the bin as we don't know who they have to do with? We have lived here 2 years, the neighbours have never changed or moved, and we are in a large village that is lovely. They certainly aren't from anyone in my house as me and my brother are 17, my sister is 11 and my mum certainly isn't on the heroin XD

Was this the right thing to do? Will we get raided and if caught, liable? The packets are EMPTY with no tablets lying around the garden at all. It appears somebody just wanted to dispose of the packaging?
