Do you need A2 maths for Medicine at Cambridge?

If someone achieves 3 A*'s at the end of A2 in Biology, Chemistry and History.
And applies to medicine during their gap year - would they be automatically declined from Cambridge because of the fact they do not have Maths to A2? But to a B at AS?
Or would they be ok with their 3A*'s in bio chem and history?

Maths isn't compulsory at Cambridge for medicine, unless you're applying to Magdalene College.

I think you need to ask in the Cambridge forum, possibly on one of the "ask an admissions tutor" type threads, to get a realistic response. The other poster is correct that only one college (Magdalene) requires maths to A2, but several others want three sciences to A2, so you'd also be ineligible for those, and even at the remaining colleges IIRC the success rate for people with only 2 at A2 was reduced. I also am not sure if only having a B at AS would be a disadvantage. Best to get accurate information from the source of possible!
