There are many different styles of referencing and in-text citationing including Harvard and Numeric. If you're doing a piece of college/university coursework you need to check with your department/supervisor etc. exactly which style is required by them, sometimes they can be flexible but are often really picky.

Some guides I can recommend are http://www.library.dmu.ac.uk/Images/Selfstudy/Harvard.pdf or https://www.dit.ie/media/library/documents/Numeric.pdf

All of the sites/guides online will have several small variations between each other such as what is/is not in capitals or where commas or full stops etc. are used/placed. Normally the choice of any of these variation is fine for academic work as long as you're consistent, but again check with the right person/people to ensure the precise style you want to use is acceptable to them. These guides are pretty self-explanatory but feel free to ask any questions if you have them.
