I don't understand where the extra minus cane from when it says -(-349*2) can someone explain this to me please?
looks like -349 is the 1st electron affinity of Cl, as there are 2 Cl, you multiply this by 2, which they havent done in the cycle diagram, but have doen in the working also, the minus infront of (-349*2) is because you are going against H6's arrow

You need to show the rest of the page. Was that process exothermic?
I'm not sure of it was exothermic or endothermic and the next page shows a different example.
