looks like -349 is the 1st electron affinity of Cl, as there are 2 Cl, you multiply this by 2, which they havent done in the cycle diagram, but have doen in the working also, the minus infront of (-349*2) is because you are going against H6's arrow

I'm not sure of it was exothermic or endothermic and the next page shows a different example.
