never been to a party before

Its not that i dont socialise, im just more of a introvert. I do go out with my friends but not generally to "adult" places likes pubs or bars. Rather cinema and restaurants, so im not really sure how im going to deal with freshers parties, especially since no one I know is going to my uni. Any advice?
you're not missing out in the slightest imo

Most party's I've been too, I just want to leave haha. I mean some are good to get ****ed up which is fun. But prefer restaurants and more relaxed socialising. Instead of party's were alchool costs so much and hungover next morning 😩

One of the guys in my house coughed up blood after freshers, destroyed his stomach lining and probably half his brain.

I find the whole thing quite ridiulous...southampton for example hosts..freshers week, refreshers week, carnage, big night out etc etc.

All you are missing out on is an empty wallet and a couple of sti's, stay home and study.

Hello ,

First of all, Freshers isn't all about parties and clubs. It's just the most glorified part of it and it shouldn't be - therefore, you don't have to drink and attend parties if you don't want too, there is plenty more to be done during the day during Freshers. Just search out for what there is to do.

Secondly, those people saying you aren't missing out on much have obviously had bad experiences with parties. House parties/flat parties are some of my best memories from over my three years of university. The birthdays that were celebrated, the holidays, the end of terms, the costume parties and so on - they are fantastic. Once the house/flat is fairly full and the music is flowing and drinks are flowing they are fantastic - literally, like I said, they are some of my best memories.

How to deal with them? Well first decide whether to go or not to go. Once you're there decide whether to drink or not to drink. Decide how long you want to be out for and then make an effort and talk to people and socialise.

You are aware Freshers isn't about people you know going to the same university so you can attend parties with them - Freshers is a week long social/ice-breaker. Don't think you need your friends there because that's not the point.

Best of luck
