The west once again backing the wrong side in Syria?

Why can't the US and NATO get it right in Syria? They're once again supporting the wrong side.

At the start of the war they supported armed the jihadists opposed to Assad, but when they discovered that many went on to create ISIS and Al Nusra they stopped this support.

Next they supported the Kurdish forces YPG etc, who were the only trustworthy ground force against ISIS and until recently were beating back ISIS liberating many towns and cities. However Turkey didn't like this an so the west withdrew and stopped this support for Syrian Kurdish forces.

Next they took advice from Turkey of who to support, (who'd been suspected of helping the jihadists and IS from the start) and Turkey suggested the west support these anti-Kurdish and anti-Assad rebels, who the west knew nothing about and it turned out a lot of them were Jihadists like Al Nusra!

Meanwhile in all this confusion, ISIS is taking back the territory they recently lost to the Kurds and inaccurate airstrikes are killing Syrian regime forces who are fighting ISIS near Deir Ezzor.

So in all this mess, ISIS are the only ones making any success.

I think we should either support Assad or just get the hell out of Syria altogether because we are not being part of the solution, we are being part of the problem!

Well at the start we should've bombed and over thrown Assad like we did to Gaddafi and Saddam, we should've never backed the opposition unless we led them, should've never backed the Kurds becuase that will lead to future divisions. So we had the chance to throw Assad out but missed it, I agree with you but only becuase Russia are involved so our only choice is to back Assad if we want to end the war

ISIS are not regaining the ground they lost to the Kurds, and they haven't regained anything of significance anywhere else either.

And this accidental US air strike on the Syrian army led to ISIS capturing a hill which the Syrian army recaptured hours later. The Russians have have done this before as well and it hasn't led to ISIS making any gains.

But then it comes back to the issue of what are Airstrikes really achieving in Syria? Yes they are attacking ISIS but who is gonna replace ISIS in these areas when they are gone? Northern Syria is in a state of complete anarchy.
The anti-Assad rebel groups can't be trusted and the Syrian Kurds are no longer supported by the west and are being forced to vacate most of Northern Syria by Turkish forces.

Assads forces are too far from Northern Syria to occupy those areas when ISIS does go and Syrian regime forces are not equipt or capable of pushing any remaining ISIS out.
Secondly the west will not bomb ISIS to help the regime. The west is using ISIS as a tool to defeat Assad.

So just who is going to benefit from the air attacks on IS in Syria? Or is Turkey planning on annexing that region?

How on earth would overthrowing assad possibly have helped anything? Have you actually seen the state of libya recently? Its a hellhole.Even obama said it was a shitshow.Assad might be a nasty man but at least he was secular, these opposition groups fighting him are far worse.

Libya is nothing compared to Syria right now, not saying syria would be perfect if we over threw Assad but it'd certainly be less complex and less brutal, the reason Libya is a mess now is because the worlds focus is on Syria. Although I do get your point, the Rebels would've gained power and they're almost as bad or worse than Assad but removing him would've been a step forward

It's a shame that we can't remove the Turkish problem via divide and rule. Unfortunately, so long as Russia is our enemy, we can't tell Turkey where to go.
They're doing it because it is for the benefit of Israel. Israel is always involved in it. Going back to the Iraq war, it was largely neo-con Jews pushing for the war and regime change including Israel's Netanyahu. Jewry has a tight grip over America and the West and they're leading us into wars that are for their benefit.

Israel never suffers from any of this.

Is Israel being bombarded with refugees? No, in fact they're helping get them to Europe LOL

Don't be so shocked, they were always backstabbers.
