Reading for Physics Degree to write on personal statement

What part of physics can I read about and what book? Except for particles, already read one on that. A different topic. Preferably not waves....I guess astronomy or energy?
Try and find a topic you're particularly interested in, and read about that. It is a lot easier to read 200 pages of something you're enthralled by than something you're just reading for the sake of it. Also, if you mention it in your PS, I'm sure a niche (sp?) book will look a lot better than one of those books EVERYONE has read (i.e. A brief(er) history of time).
I'm not taking physics but I find quantum mechanics and relativity interesting af

Yeah A Brief History of Time by Stephen Hawking is a brilliant book, so interesting and introduces everything from black holes, quantum mechanics, and relativity, to string theory.
Can't really go too wrong with a bit of Feynman.
