How is Finance linked to Economics? - Personal statement

Tips for personal statement please because I am stuck :smile: I currently wrote a paragraph talking about a mathematical model in finance, but now I want to link it to Economics. Any help would be appreciated!

Why do you need to link them? You're supposed to be talking about your interest in the subject that you're applying for, so unless you're applying for a degree in "the link between finance and economics" this is likely to be irrelevant.
finance as an industry is driven by wht goes on in the economy.

think about capital raising .. components of the cost of debt for instance

monetary policy - interest rates
risk premia - animal spirits / implied health of the economy
tax shield - fiscal policy

Cost of Debt = Interest rate on debt * (1 - Tax rate)
