Anyone else shocked by the amount of people that think Dubai is a country?

I seriously think MOST people assume that Dubai is a country and not a city of UAE.

Some people think Africa is a country, which I think is worse.
I get more annoyed when people refer to the UK as "england", or the netherlands as "holland"
It irritates me more that some people don't seem to realise that USA laws have absolutely no relevance to the rest of the world.

It's shocking that some people still think that Canada is part of the USA.

Also up there is people who don't know that that Holland =/= the Netherlands. North and South Holland are constituent parts.

And since we're at it...there is no such thing as a British accent.

True. Tell them about UAE, they would be like "Wait, what's that? In which continent?". Tell them about Dubai, "OMG! That country is so beautiful."
Quite awkward lol. I experienced this while travelling abroad and idk how to react.
