Renting a room

I have a question about renting rooms. If I rent a room in London, it will be part of a house which is owned by a person. Some rooms say that a toilet is available. Now I'm not talking about student accommodation. I would like answers from people who have actually rented rooms in the past. Will the person who owns the house let me use the toilet? Or is it not included in the rent?

I'm pretty sure that there is a legal requirement to provide sanitation if you're renting a room! They can't rent you out a room unless there is provision for you to use a toilet, whether that is en suite, or communal.
