Anyone heard back from Blaser Mills post AC?
Just called Gatelet now and apparently the woman who is dealing with it is out of the office. Should be in the next week or so.
Anyone heard from Paul Hastings after second interview?
People are still waiting to hear back post-app (!!!) from Linklaters, right?

Wouldn't be surprised if they had forgotten about you.

Last year a friend got a rejection two days before a first year scheme was supposed to happen and that was only because they emailed grad Rec to ask what the **** had happened to their app.

From my personal experience Links grad rec seems to be amongst the worst in letting candidates know when they have been unsuccessful.

How much do A levels matter beyond the point of meeting a firms minimum A level requirements for a training contract?

When firms state that graduates are eligible to apply for their vacation schemes, does it matter when an applicant acquired their degree, or are all those who've graduated in the past able to apply?

Anyone hear from Paul hastings post AC yet?
Hey I am a final year law student, any law grads know if it matters which modules you choose? I am aiming for a first overall and there were two compulsory modules for my final year, I picked two commercial and two non commercial, do you think this is ok or will most firms question why I have not picked four commercial modules? Thanks

It's a lot easier to explain why you haven't done a certain module than a bad grade. As such I'd advise to play to your strengths.

However, if you're looking at commercial firms then presumably commercial subjects would be the ones you would be most good at/ the ones you'd enjoy?

I have been asked about my module choices (particularly why I took Family) in every single interview but then I know people that didn't get asked once. Be prepared to justify.

Has anyone heard from Travers Smith since they sent out the generic email about the rolling application process?
Very late ince WG invite - I thought they had finished recruiting as I think someone on here said they had an offer a couple weeks ago

Hi everyone,
Does anybody have any advice on preparing questions for partners during the interview - I am not sure on whether to ask specific questions about the work they have done or ask their opinion on something or just general things about the firm? Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks

I emphasised a very strong interest in a particular area of law (tech and IP) so I often asked the partners at which point they decided to specialise into particular areas. If my interviewers had experience in my area of interest I'd often ask for any particular career highlights. If the answers genuinely interested me I would try to have a brief conversation about any unusual clients or cases.

My worst question was asking one partner about his trainee experience at the firm. In the decades since he would have trained the firm had merged multiple times and changed enormously. He seemed disappointed by the question and said that his experience obviously wouldn't really be comparable!
