Numeracy/Maths trigonometry help!

Hello,
In Wales in Nov. We have two numeracy GCSEs. In preparation, I have been given loads of past paper maths questions.

I understand this is trigIMG_20160924_215531971.jpgand I sort've get it but this question has me :/

If you could please show your working out, also, if you cannot read the question properly due to bad camera quality just tell me and I'll type the question.

Any help is great, thanks!

If I understand correctly, you want the height of the tree, and so want to calculate the length of the opposite, given the angle and the length of the adjacent. So we need TOA.

That is, tan(56)=O/19. So O is 19*tan(56) and the total height is O + 1.8.

Hope that helps!
