Flirting doesn't imply you're going to have sex

It has sexual connotations. Would you flirt with an 12 yo? No- Why?

It really doesn't, unless you're having some sort of sex chat. I don't speak with any 12 year olds, but if I had a daughter I would playfully joke around with her and tease about random stuff because that's a normal part of social interaction.

Why pursue a 15 year old in the first place?

There's a reason why those accusations and assumptions are made in these situations.

Then apologists like you cry about it and wonder why.

It's funny how immigrants caught with bomb making equipment get charged with terror plotting.

You're almost too dense to function.

I suggest you learn a little aobut the law before making comments of this nature.

unless the OP is in a position of responsibility in some way , the only offences would be underage sex if act sex took place ( i see a previous poster has listed which sections of the relevant legislat Have NOT been breached).

slightly different i f the 18 year old is in a leadership / management position above the 15 year old.

also a paedophile wouldn;t generally be interested in a 15 year old ...

even if the law has been broken there is also the matter of the public interest test as to whether it is worth persuing things through the courts.

i didn't say anything about him being classed as a pedophile lol;; just saying that flirting with a minor (read: a CHILD) is illegal ??? that doesn't make him a pedophile, i know that, i'm merely stating facts. if the police found out he'd been flirting with a 15 y/o he'd get put on the sex offender register.

it doesn't matter if he intended to have sex with her or not, if she tells somebody he did he will get in serious trouble.

it's not a matter of if the law 'technically doesn't class him as a pedophile' it's the matter that he flirted with a CHILD.

In the real world, nobody cares apart from lower middle class idiots who have nothing to do with their lives

I knew this thread would be full of people going mad at OP, that's exactly why I came

solicitation of a minor.
you can do up to two years in prison for talking with a minor in a 'alluring' way; and you get put on the sex offenders register.
just a suggestion;; maybe op should talk to a girl who's actually legal in the future lol

What offence has been committed ?

unless you can prove 'grooming' and the 'public interest' test is passed there is no offence.

I don't know if you have recieved any safeguardign training, if you have the trainer is not fit for purpose ( incredibly common when poorly trained youth workers or none specialist social w**kers deliver such training compared to the same training delivered by teachers, FE teachers/ lecturers or health professionals)

as for the matter of paedophilia - the number of people who perpetuate the conflation of paedophilia with sexual activity with a pubescent or post pubescent minor is a serious problem ... interestingly the law makes a distinction - having seperate offences based on the age of the victim ( with 12/13 as a cut off ) ...

the age of consent and the age of majority are social constructs and arbitrary ... there is significant international variation on the age of consent ( and how it is policed , including 'age gap ' legislation - and where age gap provisions are in place the 15 +18 relationship is well within bounds, unless of course the 18 year old is misusing a position of authority )

Flirting isn't solicitation, it would never make it past the CPS stage unless OP was literally trying to have a sex chat and asking for meets at hotel rooms.

There is no evidence of that.

exactly , it looks like people are making stuff up or have been taught safeguarding by the kind of idiots who have grabbed it in some youth organisations and try to use the fear of grooming prosecution instead of effective management oversight ...

Okay i am worried about getting in trouble. I recently just turned 18 and i have been talking to a 15 year old friend of mine, i have been flirty/cheeky at times. No nudes,no sex and no kissing. I have cuddled her once. Her ex boyfriend said i was only talking to her for sex and i explained that wasnt the case. She ignored me and i asked what was was wrong she said **** off you pedo you used me for sex. I havent had sex with her but thats why she thinks i was talking to her. I did some googling and found grooming but realistically can i get in trouble i am sick with worry and i only wanted a girlfriend

you wanted a 15 year old girlfriend, you make clowns sad

It really is, it's a social activity rather than necessarily explicit sex chat.

They aren't mutually exclusive.

What sort of a reaction do you think you'd get if you say told your coworkers, that your flirt with 12 year olds?

And why do you think you'd receive that reaction?

You would never say such a ridiculous thing and any reaction you get would be the result of saying such a thing.

Pretty much every father flirts with his daughter, even radfems like Germaine Greer agree with me because I'm so right here.
