We must go back to Labour's generous and compassionate benefits system

It is disgraceful how the vulnerable and underprivileged few have been torn apart by an unfair system. We need to bring back Labour's generous and compassionate benefits system. Who agrees?

The important thing here is that if you say you're going to raise taxes, people will get really really triggered.

Also it's stupid that you should disadvantage hard workers to create a welfare state (cause thats really helped the economy in the past)

Labour are also horrible at handling money, I wouldn't trust them. I'm not going to vote anything other than tory for a long time.

Actually we don't. We have a finite amount of weapons in the inventory. During one campaign over a decade ago we came very close to running out.

We're already massively in debt. Is more borrowing really sensible? And who's going to be in favour of raising taxes? Not very sensible or popular policies...

The defence budget is utterly dwarfed by the social security and NHS budgets.

If we scrapped Trident altogether, we could probably use the money to pay benefits for about 2 weeks.

If we lived in a Jeremy Corbyn crack-pipe alternate universe, and scrapped all defence spending, had no Army, no weapons, no Navy - we could pay benefits for about a month.

That's the scale of social security.

And let's not forget that if we did scrap the military (and, by default, all those civilians who work to support the military in various ways) you'd very quickly end up with a few million extra people all needing benefits.
