Can a nurse do medicine?

Later in their degree, could a nurse undergo further study to progress to a doctor?
thanks.

No. You would apply for graduate entry medicine via UCAS. Its a 4 year degree. The 5 year undergraduate route is currently unfunded for graduates.

Thanks, much appreciated. So you would have to fund this yourself?

Only if you apply to 5 year courses. The 4 year course is, currently, funded bar the first £3465

'Progress' isn't really the right word. Its a different role. A nurse can become a doctor, but only by re-training from the beginning the same as everyone else. Its a very expensive route in terms of lost income (and it will be a few years as a doctor before your hourly salary rises above that of a nurse).
