Can I carry a knife with me on a train?

If it is for camping purposes and is secured in my backpack. I would need to go on a train to get to where I wan't to go?

It's illegal to carry weapons on you in a public place unless it's less than 3 inches long and you have a good reason (i.e: ceremonial or religious)
If it's in your backpack I think you should be fine

You can if you want but I think it would only be a problem if it was on your person (i.e: you could easily get it whilst in public)

You need to prove to the authorities lawful authority or reasonable excuse. If you cant its an offensive weapon. You are going to be pushed with a bow and arrow.
