I took initiative a few weeks before term started, to read my cousin's AS Biology textbook. She goes to same sixth form as me, but she's in year 13 now. I made notes from the textbook and did the questions in them as well. Biology uses a lot of jargon to replace 'regular' words. It's almost like reading a new language. lol

Wow, lucky! Must've taken up a lot of your time during the summer though.Yeah, Biology might as well become a language as well as a science lmao

Not much to do during the summer but work part-time.

Introduce yourself
I started Sixth Form in September.

GCSE Results (1A*, 4As, 6Bs, 1C)
English Literature - B
English Language - B
Maths - B
Further Maths - B
Biology - A
Chemistry - A
Physics - B
Religious Ed. - A*
Drama - A
Geography - B
German - C
PE - A

Hobbies and interests
I don't really have any specific interests if I'm honest. I do a lot with St. John Ambulance (Sargent of my Unit, achieved Levels 1 and 2 in Leadership skills, Level 1 in Peer Education, Margaret Sweet Shield Award, Bronze of my Grand Prior Award, Most Progressive Cadet of 2015), but other than that, I'm either revising, watching television (mainly EastEnders, Casualty, Holby City and Midsomer Murders) or exercising.

Subjects I'm taking
Biology
Chemistry
Maths (AT AS ONLY)
Psychology

My favourite subject(s)
Biology and Chemistry without hesitation.

My future ideal occupation
Ideally, I want to be either a doctor or a paramedic. My heart leans much more towards becoming a paramedic as I prefer the front line role and working alongside the police and fire brigade. If all else fails though then I'll fall back into the teaching net and become a secondary school science (specialising in Biology and Chemistry) teacher.
Hiya guys, not been on this thread since results day!
Just wondering those who have started doing A Level Maths, how is it going for you?

I am. I got a B grade in GCSE Maths and Further Maths, and it's going really well for me. I'm not finding anything we're doing at the moment particularly challenging. Did you take Maths at A-level?
- Introduce yourself
Hey! I'm Jason and I'm 16. At GCSEs I got 9 A*s and 5 As

- What are your hobbies and interests?
I spend half the day everyday listening to music, with my favourite artists being Shakka, Kano and Santan Dave (who btw has a new EP out that I would highly recommend). Other than that, I don't really do much else apart from revision and procrastinating. I do want to pick up cooking and swimming though.

- What subjects are you planning to take?
I'm taking Maths, Further Maths, Biology, Chemistry and Spanish

- Your favourite subject(s)?
Probably Maths, but I'm also enjoying Biology so far (definitely cause we haven't done plants yet)

- Your ideal future occupation?
My mind is pretty much set on medicine, specifically as a surgeon but I'm not yet sure what I want to specialise in

We're also doing sequences in C2 right now and tbh I find it quite challenging, don't know if it's the teachers or myself

Maths is going well so far. Topics we've learnt are Algebra, Quadratic Functions, Coordinate geometry (C1) and Correlation (S1). The exam questions did throw me off a bit, but that won't stop me from being optimistic

And good luck for Cambridge! I was interested in applying for Oxford medicine but I read a book talking about the sorts of questions they ask you in the interview and I'm pretty sure I wouldn't have a chance!

Haha, no problem; I'm more enthusiastic for strangers than I am for myself.
