I completely forgot to apply for this role. Gutting isn't the word. Hoping I can get a place on the tsp where there is clear profression. Friends on the tsp said not too bother with the HO role as there really isnt much scope to move up unless you apply internally for the tsp once there.

Sorry you missed the deadline. That's quite disheartening as well, the booklet talked about training and I thought that there was a clear way upwards.

TSP is Tax Specialist Programme?...I take it you're internal?

Anyway, I applied for the Belfast office as no.1 and Edinburgh no.2. Anyone else?

Does anyone know when the start date will be?

I have London as one of my back up choices, but as far as I understand that is kind of meaningless right? They only seem to look at your first choice.

I've applied for both London
What's your first choice

Of the people who were successful, had any of you put Glasgow as the preferred choice?

Let's hope all London has been put on hold, and processed through to the interview stage at a later date.

So has anybody else here gone for Liverpool?

Hi there, I've only selected Liverpool and awaiting feedback for competency statements:smile:

I've selected Liverpool too but did select Manchester as second choice.

Huh that's weird...did they tell you why you only had 1 test? Have you done it before? I think I remember reading that if you had done either of the tests within the previous three months, you wouldn't have to repeat it (I might be wrong on that though)
My first choice was Manchester, followed by Liverpool and Birmingham. I'm able to either travel or relocate to those cities quite easily (I live near manchester, Liverpool is an hour away but I have loads of family there with spare rooms if needed, have a close mate with a spare room for rent in the centre of Brum). It'll be a shame if they only look at your first choice, especially as I wouldn't mind moving anywhere thats not London.

My understanding was that they look at your first choice, and in the initial stages only compare you to other applicants for that choice- I.e. you'll be compared in competency with other applicants to Manchester. If you pass, and pass the interview, but then there aren't jobs for you in Manchester because everyone else took them, that's when they move onto your second/third choice, or offer you other locations.

I might be totally wrong but that's what I remember thinking when I read it!
