The preacher is listed to speak at the Islamic Republic of Iran School

What's the bet Jeremy Corbyn will invite this man to parliament and call him an "honoured guest" who is "fighting for peace and social justice"? This man sounds like exactly the sort of scumbag Corbyn seems incapable of staying away from.

The DM is only paper I've seen reporting the recent case of a Christian family being tortured by Islamists in Pakistan for refusing to convert to Islam while they had to listen to the 17 year-old daughter being gangraped. The reason the story is especially poignant is because the police refused to investigate it. They often turn a blind eye to Sufis, Christians and Ahmadiyyans being bombed and killed.*

Well said, dude. Wherever Christians are a small minority in a Muslim country, you have a regular drumbeat of reports about people being beheaded here, burned there, accused of throwing the Quran in the river (why is it that somehow that accusation is always made? Knowing how crazy these people are, no Christian in that part of the world is ever going to do something like that) and of course now they have to die.

It's absolutely disgusting, but you won't ever see any protests in their name by the Muslim community. Funny that, given Muslims are usually so keen to protest "injustice" many thousands of miles away. But I suppose their sense of solidarity only applies to Muslims. When the torturers, the killers, the oppressors, are Muslims somehow an excuse will always be found.

Pakistan gonna Pakistan

 I love that.

but you'll never hear papers like the Guardian report it because they're brown nosers for Sunnis.

Shi'a too. The Guardian will defend all forms of Islamic fundamentalism (even if those fundamentalists are mutually exclusive and at each others' throats). What matters is that they are opposed to "American and Jewish imperialism" and therefore must be supported as the "legitimate resistance".

This is the same paper that had Raed Salah write an article for them on Holocaust Memorial Day

Oh ffs, it never stops does it? Shameless doesn't even begin to describe it.

Wtf? How does it have to be made up? Are you seriously that poorly-informed and ignorant of world affairs and cultures that you didn't know that murderous homophobia is absolutely rampant in Islam? Didn't you know that all 11 countries where gay people are executed are Islamic countries?

The Daily Mail doesn't need to make this up when there are so many real instances to choose from.

This is embarrassing for you. I even posted on this thread again.
Its because both the mail and the guadian say,are incredibly biased. The guardian refuse to see anything negative about immigration and islamic culture.T he mail refuse to see anything positive about immigration. Its pretty ironic that the mail is defending gays. But I would call this a sort of ersatz defense. They are only defending gays to attack muslims. In the past they have been amongst the first to bash gay people. Both that paper and islam subscribe to right wing ideology.

Islam turns the Mail into an ultra feminist rag
Nick Cohen writes a lot for the guardian. That dude is well known for for giving Islam a free pass.
It's in lots of papers.

It may just be that nobody at the Guardian knew about the story, their news coverage staff is a lot smaller than it was.

He normally goes something like this.

George Galloway is a massive regressive leftists. Therefore we should bomb all the population centres in the middle east.

Certain Trots and SWP types confuse anti-Zionism with anti-Semitism.

Therefore it is justified for Israel to nuke Iran immediately.

The Daily Mail does it only when it's convenient for its agenda.

Here's how it rolls:
The Guardian would be silent on Muslims bullying gays.
The Guardian would plaster it everywhere if Tories were caught bullying gays.

Daily Mail would be silent on Tories bullying Gays.
Daily Mail would plaster it everywhere that Muslims are bullying gays.

Two sides of the same coin.

The Guardian however doesn't hate gay people. The DM however have shown they have in the past. It's like when Britain First suddenly care about gay people and women 's rights when they find out that the accused was Muslim. Outside of that, they're as homophobic and as sexist as usual

Which is why it is all the more important the left doesn't leave it up to these people to defend those persecuted by Islamic countries and cultures.

Being Muslim trumps being gay on all issues when it comes to the lefts identity politics.

I agree with about lefts identity politics Muslim trump gay rights. Also in almost every Muslim dominated country in Middle East the Christians population is going down because of prosecution.

One of few country in the Middle East were Arab Christians population is growing is Israel where they are the least likely to be unemployed, commit crime and the most likely to got university and be in a professional job. Left hate that.

Another fact is the Christian population is going up in Iran because they are refugees from Iraq and they are protected in Iran. Also their the largest Jewish population in the Middle East outside of Israel. The right hate that and the left. It the government that bad not the people there

A newspaper like the Guardian does not know about a story like this, that is being run by its biggest competitors?

Or they don't think it's important enough, or they doubt the factual basis. The Mail isn't famous for objectivity.

Your own link shows that the Independent has run the story, so they obviously thought it was factually objective enough to run.

Not important enough? Pick and choose other minorities to put in these spaces and do you really think the Guardian would not think such a story is important enough?

Famous _______ speaker due to deliver lectures in London in which they call for _______ to be executed.

Well, whatever - I don't run the Guardian.

To me the real story here is that Iran is apparently able to run schools - exclusively teaching in Farsi - in the UK. Why is that allowed?

EDIT: Apparently it's an independent fee-paying school. Funny to see it being shown on the Foxton's Maida Vale site as a plus point in the local house hunt.

well its bc DM blasts muslims all the time.

'A muslim did this'

'A muslim did that'

seriously crime has got nothing to do with religon, we dont hear 'a christian did this'
The man's religion is kinda important in the context of the accusation. The whole issue is his position as a Muslim "scholar" making pronouncements about what Islam says.

It's a bit like saying that an MP's political party is irrelevant when reporting their statements on policy!

The Guardian doesn't hate gay people, you're right about that. But do you think it's OK to have people write for you who openly despise gay people and support the death penalty for them? Because the Guardian has. As far as I know the DM hasn't.**
