Maths (help)

The line joining (c,4) to (7,6) has a gradient -1/4
q) work out value of d

so I did 6-4 over 7-c which = -1/4

2 over 7-c = -1/4

How did get of the division? x but what?

x

Multiply both sides by (7-c). You can do anything in maths so long as you do it to both sides of the equation.

thanks  the answer in the textbook says 4 1/3

Yup, if c was not at the bottom then the question would be easy but i dont know what to do because how do you x -1/4(7-c)
