Earning £7.50 an hour at age 16

Is this a good wage?

Depends what you're doing and if you're enjoying it.
Making yourself miserable for £7.50 an hour isn't worth it, but if you enjoy it, yeah it's not bad (given the minimum wage for under 18's is £4.00 a hour).

When I was 16, my first retail job paid me £5.08. You're on a decent wage for your age trust me.

That's not a good wage for someone working full time and depending on that wage, but for a teenager who's working part time it's brilliant.
Working a 40 hour week that equates to over £15.5k a year, so as a starting wage for a sixteen year old I would say that is actually pretty good.

I earned £6.79 an hour when I was 17, beat that everyone :h::h:

thats really good, i worked at kfc and got 5.30 an hour which was min wage for my age (19)
It's good for a 16 year old.
yeah the best is waitrose I think - £7.66 an hour :smile:

Wow, that's nearly around £400 a week! :smile: what's your job? Would I earn the same if I worked in an Engineering related industry? (I want to be an engineer designing medical equipment when I'm older :lol: )
