you've never heard of it because its not really something that people brag about especially men. i guess they were able to confide in me because i'm a woman therefore less likely to laugh at him or think him weird than a man would.
i was equally as shocked too, they didn't seem to have anything wrong with them. they were ok to look at, decent body and intelligent but having a lack of confidence/body issues strikes a lot of men too and thats the reason why (they told me) that they were still virgins. its not that they couldn't find someone, its that they were too unconfident/not ready to go the full way. its nice to know that men go through the same things as us really

thats because i come across as being mature. and i am, i'm not the type to laugh at stuff like this, people can confide in me about anything, i rarely judge (i don't think) and quite frankly i admire people more who have the guts to admit to stuff like this. my answer was 'so what?' because its true, its just virginity, no idea why everyone makes such a big deal out of it. theres no time limit or law against it, lose it when you are ready. if you never want to lose it, don't. just stop thinking that you HAVE to do it just because everyone else has done it.
