That is a major extenuating circumstance! It's not making excuses, the pain and struggle of undergoing surgery is no joke. Maybe ask your school for advice on what to do .i.e. whether you should contact Imperial or not

Thanks for the advice, I'll contact my school and see if there is something they can do(contact imperial and verify it). Effectively cut my preparation time down to 2 weeks while also recovering from surgery. I guess I just have to get my head down and practise.

I recieved an offer last year for Chemistry which I eventually turned down on results day after getting in - if you have any questions about the interviews etc, I'll be happy to answer them.
I've applied for design engineering, just wondering if anyone else here has? Also how long do imperial take to reply? I sent off my UCAS about a week ago and haven't heard anything from anyone yet...

Why did you turn Imperial down? Oxbridge offer?

That's awesome! How was your interview? Also what extra books did you read around the subject?

Thank you, it was challenging as it was my first time doing something like that. Looking back, I think it was a nice equal mix between my personal statement and academic questions. The whole day overall was quite relaxed and chill. I spent most of the time outside of the interviews talking to the other applicants about casual things like what London nightlife was like and all that which I think definitely relaxed me before the interview. I didn't read much other than How Chemical Reactions Happen but that's a standard book really and pretty much everyone there had a copy with them, it was quite amusing really hahaha
