Joint Honours Personal Statement

I'm writing a PS to apply for BA Joint Hons Eng Lang and Eng Lit and am really worried that unis won't accept me because people have told me I'm struggling to get across the fact that I love both subjects equally. I feel I've done all I can but am obviously stuck with the disadvantage of having half the space single Hons applicants have to talk about my subjects!

Anyone else in the same position or have any advice? Thanks.

Btw, the unis I'm applying to are Reading, Worcester, Swansea, Portsmouth, and Westminster.

Btw, the unis I'm applying to are Reading, Worcester, Swansea, Portsmouth, and Westminster.

Reading, 77% of applications get an offer http://university.which.co.uk/university-of-reading-r12/english-language-and-literature-3-years-9000-q301

Worcester, 100% of applications get an offer http://university.which.co.uk/university-of-worcester-w80/english-language-studies-and-english-literary-studies-3-years-8650-qq23

Swansea, 100% of applications get an offer http://university.which.co.uk/swansea-university-s93/english-literature-and-english-language-with-a-year-abroad-4-years-9000-qq3d

Portsmouth, 100% of applications get an offer http://university.which.co.uk/university-of-portsmouth-p80/english-language-and-literature-3-years-8750-q300

Westminster 84% of applications get and offer http://university.which.co.uk/university-of-westminster-w50/english-language-and-english-literature-3-years-9000-q301

With the exception of Reading it doesn't seem as if your other choices select based on the quality of your application (and for Reading they might be rejecting 23% of applicants because their qualifications aren't suitable).

Which subject do you feel isn't coming across strongly enough?

Thank you for this! Probably both as I've kinda written about what aspects of the subjects interest me, often exemplified by extracurricular stuff- maybe not enough about what makes me better than other candidates. I think I'm probably overthinking it, but I'm trying to make it as perfect as possible as my grades aren't the strongest and I really want to get into Reading.
