Will my gcse grades prevent me from getting into uni

I want to get into a russel group university to do computer science ( or something related to that)

I only got a C in english language and a B in literature. however i got an A* in maths? I am doing maths, computer science and geography alevel

will this effect my chances?

Apparently universities don't care much about GCSE's as long you meet their minimum requirements.
