Yeah i am. Basically durham has fairly limited lab space for chem hence the need to declare it, and yes it is more competitive for chem as the space constraints are such that they cant take that many for it and a lot of people want to do it.

You could look at cosmology? Theoretical astrophysics in my view.
Question is if you want to harness your interest to university level?
An astro/Cosmo degree might lose some of the practicals to focus on more specific modules

So where have people heard back from so far? I have an offer (A*AA) from Edinburgh, had an interview at Manchester yesterday (when they told us we all had offers, but ain't UCAS official yet) and an interview from Imperial.

Also applied to Cambridge and St Andrews, and it feels pretty awesome that other people have applied to almost the exact same unis as me!

When was your application sent off? What sort of things did you talk about in the interview at Manchester? From what I've heard Manchester only give out interviews if they're pretty sure they'd give you an offer.

I'm applying for BSc Physics, and received three offers from Liverpool, Surrey and Nottingham. Still waiting for Birmingham and Sheffield to reply. Where did you apply?

I didn't work very hard last year and hence ended up with bad AS grades, I have great passion for Physics and my personal statement is quite strong. I've been working much harder this year and hope to end up with A*AB at least.
Do you guys think Ill be offered a place at any of these unis? I know i haven't done that well in AS but is there any hope at all?
Any alternatives? Im sending my application of this week and I'm kinda freaking out.
