Anyone understand these new gender pronouns?

It's too confusing. We may as well just use people's names, seeing as these pronouns are becoming so personalized and numerous (and we have to ask people what 'their pronoun' is before talking to them).

It doesn't mean I'm impolite if I don't refer to you as 'xe' or 'ge' or 'Sir Unicorn.' It means I'm refusing to take part in a silly millennial fad - because that's exactly what it is. I'm not going to take it seriously.

Male? You're a he. Female? She. The only allowances I make go to genuine transsexuals, not edgy trans-trenders. If that 'triggers' people, go cry about it on tumblr.
Best ignored, like we ignore most crazy people.

I heard that people use 'They' when they're bigender or whatever.

I hear people use 'they' when they don't want to be known.

Spoiler

I agree this whole adjective pronoun thing is a joke. A few years ago these people would be identified as having an identity disorder. But now?
the whole concept of gender is kind of useless imo. all it does is reinforce and legitimise stupid stereotypes, assumptions, expectations, prejudices etc. etc. blah blah.

sounds a bit radical but meh. i really can't envisage any situations where it should matter to anything what anyone's gender identity is.

There is no such things as gender identity it's a made up concept there is only sex

Medical ?

but can't we talk about those concepts by referencing hormone profiles, reproductive systems etc. (i.e. the actual characteristics used to define sex) directly without ever bothering with assigned sex itself? let alone gender identity

sex is made up to some extent too, but that is kind of what i'm saying!
It's pretentious, but I doubt anyone over 25/30 would want people to use them.

That'd be pretty inefficient in a medical setting
I think people who use ze/xe pronouns are attention seekers or have a mental problem. I would probably try using those pronouns, just out of respect, but inside I would be judging them. Let's put it this way... I probably won't be socialising with them much anyway. It's sad, really.

yeah and in any setting where the statistical grouping of variables has power and/or value e.g. insurance etc.

i don't know if the same is true of gender

Sex isn't made up you are male/female or defective

Made up as in a fake set of rules for male and female that is what gender is.

Chopping your willy off, putting a wig, heals and a dress doesn't make you a woman.

It makes you a man who self multilated his body and likes wearing woman's clothes.

He has gender dysphoria

I just don't understand it at all. What is "ze" "xe"?.

Some people are getting far too desperate to be different in today's world and it's taking the piss.

I can't even ask for no gherkins on my McDonald's burger because they "don't do special requests', what makes these special little snowflakes think they can request that people call them "XE" just because they want to identify as anything from a currency exchange website to a Jaguar sports car.

Great post.

I define it as made up. This is getting tedious
