Depends for which subject... Just based on what you have said, even though they are both prestigious I'd probably choose Warwick because it's consistently in the top 10 on the league tables and because I wouldn't personally want to live in Scotland to be honest

It depends on the subject, although I probably would choose Warwick because it's £9K cheaper, and I imagine living in Edinburgh would be quite expensive.

However, if they were both the same price, and cost of living was similar, I'd choose Edinburgh as it's an amazing city, the University looks fantastic (i.e all the 'ancient' architecture compared to glass and concrete at Warwick).
Edinburgh. Obviously.
Honestly though, it's a beautiful place to study (which I'm not sure can be said of Warwick), it's of similar 'reputation' if you're concerned about that and although it's not the cheapest place in the country, it's probably less so than most people think.
What subject are you applying for?

Since this is in the physics and chemistry bit, I'm guessing that its one of them that your applying for. Either way I'd choose Edinburgh unless it was for maths.

Edinburgh, both are great uni's but Edinburgh is such a great city

Well I've never been myself so I might be wrong but I always hear how its depressing and dreary and rainy and the people are aggressive and drunk and racist. I know pretty much only this view of Scotland, it could be completely off but its what I keep hearing.
If it was for Physics I'd go for Edinburgh.
both would be a good choice, as people have said on here.
Don't let the extra £9000 influence your decision though; you never see the money and will pay back the same amount really so it doesn't make much difference.
I live in Warwick, and am hopefully going to Edinburgh in September. I would choose Edinburgh any day if you're going by the best city; Coventry isn't brilliant, though you are 15 minutes or so away from Leamington and Warwick there...but even they're not amazing :') Edinburgh is my favourite city in the world; it has everything you could want there! and it's not too big or too small so it's just right
I'd say that the cost of living will be about the same though.
Have you visited them both? if so, where can you see yourself fitting in more and wanting to go to? they're both similar in ranking and prestige so that's not a major issue
hope that helps!

With exception to the rain, yes you are completely off, by a long shot! Scottish people are not aggressive, they don't drink any more than the english and they are certainly not racist by any means. Who ever keeps telling you this is a complete and utter liar. I suggest you actually vist the country before you make a judgment.

To be fair my view is mostly colored by scottish comedians like Frankie Boyle, and by the usual scottish stereotypes.

Don't know really. Edinburgh is a lovely city, but for you it's an extra 9K plus it might be a little bit more expensive to live. Also as someone said warwick is more consistent in terms of reputation. Both would be a good choice either way.

I'll most likely be doing the 3yr fast track degree there so the 9k is not a problem.

After my degree I'm thinking I will move abroad for work. Although Warwick has got a good reputation with employers and links into to business here Edinburgh is probably slightly more recognisable overseas.

May I ask why-just that I am deciding between Warwick and Durham, and just saw on another thread you attend Durham.

Personally, I don't like campus universities, I like to be integrated in to some kind of city and 'real' environment I guess. Also I know Edinburgh has a fantastic reputation for Physics - in particular for astro (my field of interest). I'm sure Warwick has good facilities but I was really impressed by Edinburgh's department, the friendliness, and the city and atmosphere. I get the feeling that beyond undergrad, the Physics at Edinburgh is superior to Warwick. I mean in terms of research it's excellent.
Anyway.. what were you saying, Warwick or Durham - OBVIOUSLY gotta be Durham  Seriously, the department is incredible, I've had such a fantastic time here and really don't want to have to leave. The city is beautiful, the lecturers are friendly, there are great opportunities to learn more about 'real' research. I just love it! It is a really small place, but don't let that put you off. There's plenty to do and get involved in.
Feel free to PM me with any questions you might have.. I have exams at the moment so I'm quite busy, but I'm done in 2 weeks' time.

I have an offer for BSc Maths and Stats from Edinburgh and an offer for MORSE course from warwick university. I am really confused about which to choose, both the university have their own perks. The course at Edinburgh is really flexible, allowing me to try out new subjects but it is 4 years long, the course in Warwick is also very much to my liking having all the subjects I like Maths, Stats and Eco and the course is only 3 years long.
They are both very good and respected universities with different specialists subjects.

If you look at the from there ranking perspective Warwick wins on all of them that are UK rankings but Edinburgh holds a higher international rankings in QS.

If you read this blog it looks at a basic comparison if you exclude student life. It directly tries to compare the two universities https://merakistudent.com/blog/which-is-the-best-university-of-warwick-or-edinburgh/
