What new things have you experienced at uni? Fess up!

The other day i was thinking about all the new different things that i've experienced since i started uni in september...and some of them are things i would never have done if i had stayed at home / not moved away.

Soo a simple question, what new things have you done since starting uni?....it can be anything from dirty things, to crazy things, to strange things you've done because you've been skint! or even new food you've tried.

I'll start..

Since starting uni i've:

- washed my hair outside using hot water from a kettle because the hot water broke!

- snogged 11 different random guys on nights out (cringe)

- lost my virginity to a stranger after a drunken night out. (A serious thing i massively regret :l)

- got fingered.

- brought 3 different guys back to my student flat from nights out.

- eaten cold beans! :/

- got extremely drunk for the first time ever

- stayed up til 6am doing an essay then going to a 9am lecture.

....and i'm sure theres many more! A lot of these things i regret but hey! uni is supposed to be the best time of your life! So just a fun question,

This thread shows why university is a valuable experience for all people and should be free.
I became numb.

I wish I could have your life. It sounds good.
Realising how much I didn't appreciate my family and friends
And we wonder why they want to increase tuition fees :ahee:

Umm waking up leaking from all orifices :borat:
- Shisha Pipe
- Wearing a condom on my head
- Throwing up from a hangover
- Setting myself on fire (cooking accident)
- Food poisoning
- All nighter for coursework

Pretty tame for the first term... bring on the second!

Cringe indeed.
Since uni I've experienced:

Paying for laundry

Doing my own food shopping

Cartilage piercing

Gin

Toga party

Pub Golf

Abnormal sleep patterns

Yeah that's it...guess I was just used to normal uni stuff pre-uni...

I realised what a cold, unfair world we live in and how broken the UK education system really is.
Became an expert at making fridge cakes. And pasta. Learned to love sainsburys basics. Also learned which cheap wines are poisonous and which are quite nice.

More importantly, I learned to be a lot more independent and fend for myself. And manage my time better. I'm far more confident.

Joined a bunch of clubs and ended up with a few new hobbies, which I've really enjoyed.

Otherwise, I just socialised loads and got very drunk a few times. Learned how to make a fancy dress costume in ten minutes out of random crap lying around my room.

Didn't do anything I majorly regret, which I'm happy about. I'm not really into pulling in clubs or one night stands, so I was never going to turn into a complete wild child.

Learned that as a second year, all the clubs are now filled with freshers its hard to get into them.
student gov finance are a bunch of trucking tankers.
I have also became more nocturnal, sleeping pattern is shot to hell but other than that, Im more confident
Inappropriate and unnecessary bitchiness.

A newfound ability to punch said people.
New routine since varsity admission:
1. Eat pathetic hostel foods
2. Wash my clothes
3. Play more outdoor games
4. Study hard in night before exams
5. Eat food from shops often (As aconsequence of point 1)
6. Learned to look after my things more carefully
7. Joined some good clubs
ive learnt that 2nd year is horrible, and that you should make sure you enjoy your life as a fresher, and doubley enjoy your nights out once you are in 2nd year, as i have just done (vodbull FTW)

Seriously, you 2010 freshers and 2011 UCAS applicants going "yay uni" don't know what you're letting yourselves in for. Just to let you know, the overrated and overstated social opportunities die out like the dinosaurs when you hit late second and early third year (especially at elite and top ranked universities like Oxbridge and Edinburgh) unless you're happy selling yourself short with a crap degree classification. Some places won't even do you the courtesy of that and will just kick you out.

University life can get seriously miserable when the work piles up and the money runs out, and academic staff can be real pieces of work.

Oh, and the OP sounds like a total slapper tbh - even by first year university standards, when I was a fresher even the most promiscuous of girls I met kept themselves in check.

So half of those involve you getting to university and metaphorically unlocking the chastity belt?

What the hell was I angry about the rise in tuition fees for? If that's what you're going to do at uni, you deserve to pay a higher price for your stupidity.
sounds fun.
