Your honest view of shy/non-confident people?

lol... they stand out, and frankly are useless in interacting with. we don't need them?

-___-.

We don't need obnoxious people like you.

I bet the world would be madness if big-headed and snooty people like you took over.

At least people who are introverted are more likely to reflect on ideas.. unlike an extremely loud person who says anything stupid that comes into their head.

Yes loud people are sociable but that doesn't mean to say shy people can't be with time?

Are you purposely being an absolute idiot? What the world doesn't need is not shy people but absolute sh*theads like you.

the very notion of being fearful of others is nonsensical.

It's fear of being judged negatively, it's not nonsensical.

how am I being boring? I simply don't care about them.
...

If you don't care, why are you posting?

Go away, you boring little troll.

Please expand that brain of yours. It's a very simple way of looking at things -_-.

I am shy and non confident. I haven't even talked to a woman. But being confident is not the thing I wanted most because I am poor and every poor guy wanted to be rich enough to go to a university and eat good food first and being confident comes after that.

They feel and exhibit more confidence.

They are not easily intimidated by others.

They are happier, as they interact with people better.

Is there a non-politically correct reason why we must accommodate shy people?

By definition, being shy will mean being less confident in public and being more easily intimated by social relations. So your argument is basically circular. A shy person is "better" (and I don't even know what that might mean) than a non-shy person because the non-shy person is not shy.

But maybe time is what is needed to help people - like myself, to actually come out. We don't need sympathy just someone who will listen or just accept us.

You don't like shy people.. okay. You prefer the tough love approach.. fine. But we aren't begging you for sympathy or telling you to be our friend.. we're just asking for some recognition.

which the OP has none of. People are different please respect that.

I dont dislike chronically shy people. And i wont feel sorry for a condition that you impose on yourself and some use as a shield. I just dont socialise with you.

And how much time should you be given, why should the rest of the world stop until you decide to join it? Help by all means should given learn how to improve yourself. but not ridicule or to be put down upon.

I agree completely with your last point though
Sometimes I can be really confident and happy, talk well to people I don't know etc, but sometimes I can be really cripplingly shy and struggle to talk to mates who I've known for years... I don't like it when I get all shy, but thats life. I read an article somewhere, on the Guardian website I think, that was defending inroverts, which was really good. Apparently Barack Obama & J K Rowling are both introverts, which made me feel better! And also introverts can be confident and extroverts can be shy, which is interesting no?

Also, who has had the experience of sitting in a large group of people and not being able to say anything, wondering if they're noticing that you're not saying anything. Thats excruciating... :colondollar:

Btw All the trolls - if we didn't have shy people, how could there be any confident people? We'd all just be the same... [Philosophised!]

Lool true!.. owned. Haha... yeah I have but usually if I'm asked something I'd say it. I wouldn't go "Look at me look at me with my brilliant ideas" and then shout over everyone as that's not cool.

Whats worst is when the rest of the group know each other well and you don't know them that well... Urgh... My problem is once i start being quiet, i feel i have to carry on being quiet for some reason... Its really bad in seminars, even if i'm asked something i can't really say anything. I just go bright red and mumble I don't know, even if I know exactly what the topic is about etc... :undefined:facepalm[\s]

Aww well maybe just write your answer down and if the lecturer points at you.. then at least you have an answer ready so you can just read it off your paper and you don't have to make eye contact with others if that's the worry.
good idea hannahchan! I don't have any more seminars left this year at least! just exams :frown:

Apparently loads of people hate seminars, but I think there just aren't many on my course - its quite a vocal subject you have to argue alot - if it was all done over the internet i'd be fine!

Oh dear.. those arguments are the worst. :/

Especially when your point has to be relevant to the previous persons point.

Never daydream in those situations lol..

Well at least in exams it's written arguments.. (i'm guessing) good luck!

I love shy people. Mostly because I'm also shy and outside my close circle of family and friends, they're the only people that I can speak to comfortably without 'warming' to them.

HaHaHa! good idea. I'm normally sitting there scared stiff of being made to talk! :s-smilie: probably picked the wrong degree subject!

There's always people who make really intricate points and you can never tell if they've made a comment so smart I can't understand it, or so irrelevant I can't understand it!
