They don't have a gym as such, but there's a wall you can head-butt if you'd like?

Not overly sure, I havn't actually used the gym, but from what people have said the range of weights is actually quite good.

In general it isn't a big gym, but you do get unlimited free personal training and fitness classes. I know this year it was £125 for the academic year...which aint too bad.

its adequate but on busy nights you can kiss goodbye to getting on a bench or even the smith machine.

the dumbbells go from (all in KG) 2.5s etc - 10 - 12.5 - 15 - 17.5 - 20 - 22.5 - 25 - 30 - 35 - 40 - 50. bad thing is though, there is only one set of each, so if someone has a set of dumbbells you want then its tough luck, which could be improved as most gyms tend to have a couple of sets of each dumbbell. also think they could do with some 37.5, 42.5, 45, 47.5 kg dumbbells, the increases towards the heavier end are quite steep - e.g. someone may be able to dumbbell press 40kg for 6 reps and 42.5 for 4 reps, but would have no chance of getting anywhere with the 50s.

There are plenty of weight plates for the bench press, smith machine, and squat/deadlift rack though.

There's plenty of cardio equipment, probably too much IMO, machines for all different body parts, kettlebells etc.

It does everything you need of it, but best to go in mid-morning/early afternoon or wait until around 8.30pm. Usually very busy around 6-7pm. It is open 7am-10pm Mon-Fri and 10am-6pm weekends.

Hope that helped.

This is fantastic mate thank you! It's already better than my current gym.

So is there only one bench? and also, do they have dips / pullup bar?

Thanks again man that was a REALLY helpful response.

no probs. there is a bench by the bench press rack, two benches in the dumbell area, and a bench for the smith machine. there is just one bench press rack, yes, unless you include the smith machine too, but if the bench press rack is unavailable there is every chance you could do a dumbbell press on one of the other benches instead.

there is a structure for free pull ups/dips, as well as the assisted pull-up/dip machine.

There is also a Total Fitness close to the university if the uni gym doesn't suit you, which is huge.
